Purvi and Aditya – US and Mexico

Aditya and Purvi headed off the beaten honeymoon path & tripped across the US and Mexico using A Travel Duet as lodestar

College sweethearts, Aditya and Purvi, tied the knot in Mumbai on the 11th of February 2016 after being together for almost 10 years. They decided to start their journey together with a long, beautiful trip across the US and Mexico. Aditya says, “We considered Australia and New Zealand but it’s been done and dusted by all our friends so we thought we’d try something different. This would be our first trip to the States and we were really looking forward to the amazing diversity of travel experiences there – city life, valley culture, clubbing, wine tasting, tropical weather and cold breezes – it would have it all.”The couple added Mexico to their itinerary solely on the suggestion of Pritish, their travel consultant Aditya enthuses, Honestly it was a brilliant suggestion! The Pacific Coast Highway was absolutely breathtaking – the views were to die for!

With a 17 day trip across the US and Mexico under their belts, the couple tell us all about their romantic getaway.

Honeymoon Highlights
San Francisco was our first stop. We stayed at Zephyr. We took a really fun Segway tour that was definitely the highlight of our stay there. Then we picked up our hired car and took off towards the Pacific Coast Highway. The drive has stunning views of the sparkling ocean. Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur is the ultimate luxury getaway,Aditya says. It felt like our own private hideaway, Purvi remembers. The couple went Buck Tracking, one of the must-dos in Big Sur.

“Aditya loved being on the road,” says Purvi. “Leaving Post Ranch Inn for Las Ventanas was like going from one heaven to another. Las Ventanas is picture perfect, a view in itself. The staff treated us like royalty and made sure we were taken care of the entire time. We watched a whale concert in Cabos and cinema on the beach. The Cinema Paradiso was something unique and a must try. Then after three nights in Cabos, we flew to Cancun.”

Little did they know, another paradise awaited them in Cancun. Aditya says, “After staying at so many beautiful hotels, we have to say our experience at Nizuc topped them all. It was gorgeous, quiet and serene. The food was delectable. The service and hospitality was impeccable. As for the room the ambience, the ocean view and the private pool with chilled white wine,” Aditya grins and *sighs*. The couple took a catamaran to Isla Mujeres and went to Coco Bongo the day after that. Coco Bongo was the cherry on the cake they say, perhaps even the best night of their honeymoon. Aditya says, “We loved every part of it and would recommend everyone to travel to Coco Bongo, the best party place in Cancun.”

The couple flew out to Key West the next day, an island city just 3.5 hours away from Miami, to relax and take it slow before hitting the road once again. “The drive to Miami was stunning!” Aditya remembers. “Being an Oversea Highway, the views of the ocean were unparalleled. We were completely hyped by the time we reached Miami. The wait was finally over! We were going to the Ultra Music Festival and were so looking forward to this. The Art Deco Cocktail tour is a must do. We even explored the Key Biscayne Island during the day! Three days in Miami went by in a blur.”

Best Meal
The couple says their best meal of the trip was in Sierra Marr, Post Ranch Inn- a salmon steak and grilled lamb chops!
