Ruchi and Nitesh – Maldives

Where clear blue sky meets the turquoise ocean - the exotic Maldives

Ruchi from Jaipur and Nitesh from Jhansi got married in July 2013. The couple travelled to Maldives for their honeymoon and shared their experience-

Exotic Maldives

We always wished to visit an island country offering exotic beaches. We considered beach destinations like Mauritius, Seychelles and Maldives. We finally chose Maldives as nothing could beat the pleasure of celebrating and expressing love in a setting where clear blue sky meets the turquoise ocean. And after our experience we really felt that the isolation and closeness to nature which Maldives provides makes it a perfect honeymoon destination.

Apart from exploring the exotic island and spending quality time on the beautiful beaches, we indulged in a Dolphin Safari on a speed boat which took us far away from the island in the middle of the ocean where the scenic beauty around us was breathtaking. The vast stretch of turquoise waters, the serene sky and the playful dolphins rejuvenated our minds. A private candle light dinner on the beach side under the twinkling stars and sparkling waves touching our feet was one of the most unforgettable moments. The delicious delicacies of Maldives along with the natural setting made the evening perfect.

During our stay we traveled to the capital city of Male where we visited the markets and other local places. It was a unique experience as we got to know about the culture and lifestyle of the people of Maldives.

Fun Island Resort

We stayed for 5 days at Fun Island Resort’s beach-front rooms where the sparkling ocean waves and the warm clear sands always seemed welcoming us at our doorstep. At night the resort used to organize various activities like magic shows and movies on screens at the beach side. We also danced to the tunes of the enthralling music which were played in the evening.

We booked a customized packaged tour through Makemytrip well in advance.

Since we both are vegetarians, we were very pleased that Maldives offered a good variety to vegetarians too. The Indian food was delicious and sumptuous and made us feel at home. We tried almost all the vegetarian dishes like Maldivian potato curries, noodles, spicy daals, bean curries, cakes, doughnuts and salads.

Recommendations:

– Book a packaged tour well in advance
– Pack light cotton clothes, shades and other necessary items for beaches
– Carry basic medicines
