Sangita and Amit – Phuket
Cape Sienna, Phuket a romantic resort on Kamala Beach was the setting for their honeymoon
Sangita, an HR Professional and Amit, an Auditor met through Shaadi.com. “We started out as friends and chatted on Facetime, Skype and Phone calls”, recalls Sangita. “Then we grew closer and decided to meet up. When we first met at the airport we felt we had known each other for years, and from the start we couldn’t stop talking. A week went by and we were sure we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. After a courtship of a little over one year we got married on 14 Feb 2014 at the Royal Orchid Fort Resort, Mussoorie India.”
Cape Sienna Phuket
Bali, Maldives and Phuket were initially their top choices, but they finally picked Phuket. “We spent a lot of time researching online, and it was the photos of Phuket and the property Cape Sienna Phuket Villas where we stayed that motivated us to finalize on Phuket. We spent 7 amazing days at Cape Sienna, a romantic resort on Kamala Beach. The whole place has a very romantic and modern feel to it, their sea view restaurant is chic yet relaxed and serves the most authentic home-style Mediterranean food,” says Sangita, adding that everything about Cape Sienna is great. “Their wines, sea view deluxe jacuzzi, airy terrace featuring a private jacuzzi bathtub with a spectacular view of the tropical sunset. It just took our breath away.”
Phi Phi Island and Phuket FantaSea
In Phuket, the duo met locals and enjoyed the local cuisine. “We went to Phi Phi Island, which takes 45 minutes to reach by speedboat, and this was one more reason to come to Phuket. Phi Phi’s beauty is a large chunk of the allure. The islands, when approached by boat, rise from the sea like a fortress”, says Sangita. “The Phuket FantaSea Show was also wacky but fun and very professionally done,” says Amit about the show which is a complete audio-visual extravaganza featuring Thai culture with magical illusions, 4 dimensional in-theatre effects, aerial ballet, thrilling aerobatics and much more.
Patong
There are few things in this world that will prepare an unsuspecting tourist out for a leisure walk down Patong’s Bangla Street but Sangitaand Amit were entertained to the core. “With its ladyboys, exotic girls, enchanted Westerners (mostly male) and enough people to fill a Disney cast of thousands– with most of them shopping or sipping on beer, a visit to Bangla Road at night is a definite ‘Dear Diary’ moment,” says Sangita on her experience there. “Simon Cabaret is a show that features a spectacular musical floor show performed by the famous ladyboys of Simon Cabaret,” she adds.
