Honeymoon Planning
“I am a nature lover, and my wife has always been a fan of Amsterdam, in the Netherlands. We were also keen to see and spend time in very different types of places on our honeymoon such as calm snow-clad mountains as well as busy cities. As a result, we opted to visit Switzerland and Amsterdam from the time we started planning our honeymoon.”

Places Visited
“In Switzerland, we stayed at Hotel Continental Park in Lucerne, and Hotel Du Norde in Interlaken. These places are breathtakingly beautiful and bustling with great shopping streets. From here, we travelled to smaller and more beautiful villages like Engelberg, Lauterbrunnen, Grindelwald and Wengen. The villages are so romantic that it truly felt like love was in the air. Switzerland truly is heaven on Earth! After Switzerland, we visited Amsterdam and thoroughly enjoyed our four days in this quaint and charming city.”

Best Experience
“We visited Mt. Titlis which has three levels of cable cars, and the final stretch includes the world’s only revolving cable car. The floor turns as the cable car elevates and it gives a full view of the surroundings. We really enjoyed that experience.”

Advice to other Honeymooners
“Make sure to plan your stays in big cities because in smaller towns and villages, places usually shut down by 9pm. Plus, there are hardly any supermarkets there which are the only places in Switzerland where one can buy really cheap daily essentials. A Swiss travel pass is an absolute must. With it, trams, buses and train trips are absolutely free. Also, with a Swiss travel pass, one gets massive discounts at other sightseeing places such as Mount Titlis, Mount Jungfrau and Harder Kulm.”
