Honeymoon Planning
Shikha shares, “We both love Italian cuisine and wine, so the choice was obvious – Italy. Jaiveer loves history and I love my pasta and there’s nothing more beautiful than a European summer. So, we decided to explore Italy for two weeks by visiting hotspots, like, Amalfi Coast, Capri, Rome, Florence, Milan. We had also considered Greece but Jaiveer had already been there and Italy had always been on our bucket list.”

Planning a comprehensive honeymoon right after the rigors of the wedding is not a cakewalk. The couple chose The Travel Bus Co. to help them make the right choices and enjoy their honeymoon sans any extra stress. Shikha and Jaiveer go on to share, “The Travel Bus Co. They made everything so easy and smooth. They were so involved in our experience right from the time we said we wanted to do Italy. We were so overwhelmed because Italy is huge and we didn’t know how to cover it in 2 weeks. But right from the flights to the hotels to the best dining recommendations to booking our experiences – they provided us with the best options within the budget and made the travel experience unforgettable. They were so hands-on before and during the trip that I’ve ended up recommending them to almost everyone who is travelling.”

Honeymoon Highlights
As they traversed the Italian countryside, the couple visited numerous spots including the historical Pompeii. At Amalfi Coast, the couple enjoyed the sun at Positano, Ravello and the stunning beaches. At Capri, the couple experienced the Monte Solaro Chairlift, Anacapri, Augustus Gardens, Island and Grottos Boat Cruise. And while in Rome, the duo took in historical sights like, Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, Colosseum Underground & Dungeons, Panthéon and Fontana di Trevi. Florence was a maze of beauty as Shikha and Jaiveer strolled around the Tuscan Villas with vineyards and took in their panoramic view from Piazzale Michelangelo. And, in Milan, Duomo Square & Duomo Cathedral and Milan Cathedral were on the list. The city also paved the way for several day trips to Lake Como which remains one of the most picturesque spots on the planet, Bellagio, Varenna and, of course, Serravalle Outlet Mall for some much-needed retail therapy!

Best meal
For her birthday Jaiveer decided to take Shikha for a romantic date with a jaw-dropping view. Shikha recollects, “It was at Terrazza Les Etoiles in Rome. It was my birthday eve and Jaiveer took me to this beautiful restaurant with a gorgeous view. Jaiveer had the Tagliolini pasta with crab, basil and Piccadilly tomatoes and I had the Tagliolini pasta with white truffle. We had a wine connoisseur recommend one of the best wines we have ever had. Best dining experience ever on the rooftop with a view of Rome!”

Most Romantic Moment
Shikha shares, “On my birthday, Jaiveer decided to get a professional photo shoot for us outside the Duomo, Florence. He’s not a pictures guy but he knows how much it means to be and that was such a thoughtful and beautiful gift to me. The photographer was so good and I was so happy with the pictures. It was surreal and so romantic, like a pre-wedding shoot all over again.”

Advice for Couples
Shikha shares, “Please maximize your day visit hours and don’t do too many late nights because there’s too much to see in Italy – even 2 weeks seemed less. We didn’t sleep too late so that we could maximize our tourist experience. Also, make sure to do a lot of research on where you want to dine because there are a lot of tourist traps and you’d want to make sure you’re eating the best of Italian cuisine.”
