Shivani and Susheel, Maldives

Shivani and Susheel, doctors by profession, had known each other for a long time but started seeing each other in a new light when their parents set them up for an arranged marriage. Swiftly after tying the knot in their hometown, the couple set forth for the idyllic Maldives where they intended to relax before getting back to the hustle and bustle of their lives.

Honeymoon Planning
Shivani shares, “Both of us decided to go to the Maldives since we had only 14 days of leave on us. Within those 14 days, we had to tie the knot and go on a honeymoon. And, the Maldives being fairly close with its beautiful beaches was the perfect pick. We did consider other destinations like Mauritius and Phi Phi Islands, but eventually, we settled on the Maldives after glancing through the pictures.”

Honeymoon Highlights
“For the most part, we mainly lounged at the vast resort and ventured outside for various water activities. Both of us were keen on spending time together since we had less time on our hands. The resort was truly magical as it had many places to relax at, and we had many fun moments lounging by the pool, taking romantic strolls, and eating delicious treats at restaurants.” shares Shivani.

Best Meal of the Trip
“We completely indulged ourselves with lip-smacking pizza and desserts at the Latitude Restaurant at Coco Bodu Hithi. The desserts, especially, were amazing!” recollects Shivani.

Most romantic moment
“The hotel very graciously arranged a romantic candlelight dinner for us, and it was truly a special moment as we looked out at the beach while enjoying delicious wine and desserts.” shares Shivani.

“Water sports, movie nights, and a candle light dinner is a must if you’re visiting the Maldives with your partner.”

Can-avoid
“I’d suggest avoiding this destination during the monsoon as you won’t really be able to enjoy the scenic beaches properly.” advises Shivani.
