Shraddha and Puneet – Seychelles

“To love and be loved as we are is our love mantra”, say lovebirds Shraddha and Puneet as they share their exciting love story and highlights from their 4 night-5 day honeymoon in Seychelles.

“We live in California and met through a dating site in 2014. Our first meeting was in the happiest season of the year – Spring – that time of plans, projects, new beginnings and so the building blocks of our strong, romantic, crazy relationship were laid.

Our first face to face encounter was in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA, 2014 where I worked as a Quality Assurance Specialist for a Respiratory Research Organization. Puneet came all the way from the Bay Area to meet me after a couple of months of long phone calls and FaceTime sessions. We already knew each other enough and our first date did the trick.

We decided to tie the knot on the 14th of December, 2015 at the Country Inn N Suites, Satbari, Chattarpur, New Delhi. Our weekdays are very hectic and so, in the lead up to the wedding, we spent almost every weekend just planning. It was our first and perhaps most important project together, along with our families, and we will cherish that time for the rest of our lives.

Before we returned to the US we went on a quick honeymoon to the Seychelles. We wanted a beautiful, beachy, quiet honeymoon. We’d considered Bora Bora but that was ruled out because it is wet there in December. So the remote, exotic islands of the Seychelles it was!

Honeymoon Highlights
We stayed at Le Meridien Fisherman’s Cove, Victoria, Seychelles and spent most of our time relaxing, appreciating nature and Seychelles’ unique flora and fauna. We explored the beaches at Praslin and also visited the Garden of Eden, Anse Lazio Beach and Vallee de Mai Nature Reserve. In La Digue, we visited Grande Anse Beach and Anse Source d’Argent. The Temple, hillstop spice and fruit gardens of Anse Royale, Beau Vallon, La Misère and Sauzier Waterfall in Mahe were amazing.

Best Meal
We dined at Bonbon Plume in Praslin where you can relish Creole dishes in this unique feet-in-the-sand restaurant. The exact details of our meal escapes me but I remember my husband being very pleased with his vegetarian meal.

Must-experience
A dinner date on the beach

Can-avoid
Don’t cram your itinerary with too many last minute things or add more stuff to your list after you land. Take your time to enjoy each other’s company and definitely add an extra day just to relax and enjoy the hotel amenities. After all, it is your honeymoon and it has to be beautiful and relaxing.
