Shubhangi and Prateek, Australia
Shubhangi and Prateek couldn’t get enough of the scenic sights and luxurious experiences that Australia had in store.
Australia is a place of outstanding beauty and incredible contrasts where natural wildlife, happening cityscapes, and exceptional gastronomy come together to give visitors an experience of a lifetime. Shubhangi and Prateek decided to take a trip to the continent and had the time of their lives.
Shubhangi shares with us the highlights and photographs from their vacation.
How we met
A common friend of our parents introduced us and it was obvious that the meeting was arranged with the prospect of marriage. What really got the ball rolling was how much at ease we were with each other. We hit it off instantly like lost friends and soon enough the families stepped in, in order to start planning our wedding.
Both, Prateek and I are people who love to spend time with wildlife in natural habitats and talking long walks on the beach. Australia seemed like the best place to go. As it turns out, the country was, perfect and just what we needed to please the crazy wild side within us. We considered the Maldives but Australia seemed like a better option considering what we were looking for.
There were so many activities we indulged in and all of them were so much fun; adventure sports like snorkeling and scuba diving in Cairns, taking the Great Ocean Road Trip in Melbourne, whale watching in the Gold Coast and visiting the Sydney Opera House were only a few of the things we did. Australia turned out to be the perfect blend of romance, beauty, luxury, and thrill.
Best Meal of The Trip
This has to be the dessert degustation at KOI Dessert Bar! Reynold Poernomo was labeled ‘Dessert King’ in the seventh season of Masterchef Australia and he runs a tight ship. We were served 4 courses of the most mouth-watering delights which included Coney Islan, Waluigi, Lit, and Circle of Life, and the experience was exceptional.
Most Romantic Moment
We were road tripping in Cairns and were headed to Port Douglas in a convertible car. As we drove along the beach we saw the sunset straight into the ocean. The calming sea breeze, the view and the warmth we felt for each other was magical.
Advice to Couples
Everything that the country has to offer. You will not be disappointed.
Hotels We Stayed At
We preferred apartments over hotels since we find that they are often more spacious and luxurious. We stayed in places like Punthill Apartments in Melbourne, Mantra Towers in Gold Coast and The Novotel Sydney on Darling Harbour in Sydney.
