Best friends and life partners, Sneha and Manas, planned a trip of a lifetime for their honeymoon. The romantic holiday included some of the most visually-stunning and fun places on the planet, including seeing the Northern Lights and the exciting Carnaval de Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
How They Met
From starting out as classmates to becoming best friends, Sneha and Manas always knew that they would remain an important part of each other’s lives. It was only later on that love intervened and their relationship evolved to that of life partners. Sneha says, “Marriage wasn’t something we had planned but it was our destiny – we are those best friends who chose to spend their lives together.”
Honeymoon Planning
The couple planned an 18-day honeymoon, covering all their favorite spots: Finland, Tenerife (Canary Islands) and a transit stop for three days in Amsterdam.
The Honeymoon
“The top experience on both our bucket lists was to see the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) from an igloo. That is why Finland was an easy choice. Second on the list: we wanted a beach location. Tenerife, being the winter beach of Europe, was again easy to close in on. Lastly, making the trip to Europe with your best friend and not visiting Amsterdam? Not possible!”
Highlights Of The Trip
Another big reason for choosing Tenerife was that the period during which the couple were vacationing coincided with the island hosting the second largest carnival in the world: Carnaval de Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
Best Meal Of The Trip
The bride says, “This wasn’t a particular meal, but the fruits in Finland were the best we have ever had and definitely a must try.”
Most Romantic Moment
“The best moment was watching the Northern Lights for the first time from the igloo glass of our room at Pyha Igloos. It was just surreal.”
