After a lavish wedding in Delhi, to her sweetheart Sumant, a honeymoon in Europe was a dream come true for Garima.
Sumant and Garima’s two week long holiday had them enjoy the views of snow clad mountains of Switzerland, explore the city of love – Paris and enjoy the idyllic European destination of Amsterdam.
How We Met
“Sumant and I met in Goa in the year 2013. I was on a college trip. He was my classmate’s best friend. The warm sand, calm beaches, bike rides and our long conversations created a bond between us. It was a trip of innumerable memories. We’ll cherish it forever.”
Honeymoon Planning
“It wasn’t easy choosing a destination for our honeymoon. Sumant loves the ocean. I’m hydrophobic! I’m a huge fan of Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan so eventually I set my heart on Europe, the location of so many films.
We started planning. Amsterdam was first on the list, then Paris, the most romantic city on earth and finally, Switzerland. We decided to travel for two weeks to take it all in.”

“We were thrilled to explore Amsterdam – that inimitable Dutch vibe, the countless canals, colorful streets, ancient windmills, museums – every place had a story to tell.
We stayed at the NH City Centre which really is in the heart of the city near Dam Square. We loved the warm hospitality, our gorgeous suite, the perfect European breakfasts and the world-renowned European cheese served while we enjoyed the view from our balcony.
We took a cruise and biked around the city with a group of fellow travelers. A visit to Madame Tussauds was the highlight of our stay.”

“We reached Paris via the Euro Train – one of the best commuting options in Europe. After a very comfortable journey of 3 hours we reached our hotel The Novotel, Tour Eiffel. With a great view of the lake and the Eiffel tower, it truly felt amazing to finally be here. The weather was cold and crisp and we settled down with some warm delicious pizza after a day of travel. We went to Disneyland in Paris, ate tons of yummy food and relived our childhoods!”

“Everything in Switzerland looks like a painting, untouched and breathtaking. We stayed at the Ibis Styles, Lucerne. The hotel was beautiful and the people were very welcoming. While in Switzerland, we decided to visit the two most famous places Mt. Jungfrau and Mt. Titlis. Mt Titlis is all about adventure from cable rides to snow sports. Our last stop was Zurich, a city at the pinnacle of development and unique infrastructure. Being a German graduate, I could understand and speak to people everywhere but English is widely spoken too.”

“The most romantic moment was undoubtedly taking in the serene view from the top of Eiffel Tower, hand in hand and sipping on some hot coffee in the cold.”
Advice for couple visiting Europe
“Europe has everything; scenic beauty, adventure, great food, warm and amazing people. You will definitely not feel like coming back in a hurry. Planning a honeymoon in Europe will be one of the best decisions you’ll make. Do it.”
