How We Met
“We were classmates during our MBA and happened to click instantly. We were in a relationship for four years before we decided to get married.”

Honeymoon Planning
“We wanted to master a new sport and thought of becoming certified scuba divers on our honeymoon. The unexplored and untouched islands of the Philippines caught our attention immediately and hence our first half of the honeymoon was spent training as professional open water divers. We had Sri Lanka and New Zealand as other options, but the Philippines gave us the most bang for the buck.”

Honeymoon Highlights
“We stayed at the Savedra Dive Center in MoalBoal and even booked an AirBnB while in Oslob. In Panglao, Bohol, we stayed at the Henann Resort Alona Beach, and while visiting Boracay island, we checked into the Boracay Sands Hotel. Manila, MoalBoal, Boracay, Oslob and Panglao in Bohol and Boracay were some of the best places that we explored during our stay in the Philippines.”

Best Meal
“We had the best meal at Apalaya The Beach Bar in Boracay, where we tried the Spaghetti Al Pomodoro with the local San Miguel beer which was delicious.”

Most Romantic Moment
“We happened to pick a postcard for a friend, but the postcard had a quote that only someone who had gone for a dive or had visited the Philippines would understand. While having breakfast one day, it suddenly struck me that we should write to each other on the postcard and keep it as a memory. We did that right there on the breakfast table. After reading the romantic messages, we were both in tears, and now we have that postcard on our fridge.”

Advice to Other Couples
“Do not forget to pre-book your government approved hotel in Boracay as there is a special verification required before boarding a ferry to the island.”

Must-experience
“Experiencing underwater corals at MoalBoal is a must.”

Can-avoid
“Staying at five-star resorts can be avoided because they lack the personal touch and those situated on popular beaches tend to be very commercial.”
