Swati and Atin – San Juan
Swati and Atin met through their parents in a typical arranged marriage set-up. Says Swati, “Atin and I agreed to a formal phone call so we could both get our parents off our back (later we laughed when we realised we were in the same boat before we met). We never imagined one phone call would turn into never ending conversations and soon he came over to meet me in person.” Swati and Atin tied the knot in Palampur in Himachal Pradesh. They considered visiting Hawaii, Keywest and Puerto Rico for their honeymoon. Post their research and two months of their marriage, they jetted off for a week long holiday to San Juan (Puerto Rico). Here, Swati writes about their experiences.
Hotel & Places visited
We stayed at The Ritz Carlton, San Juan for about 5 days and visited quite a few places. We went to Old San Juan, hiked at El Yunque Rainforest, and spent a lot of time relaxing at the beaches. Though Atin is not a swimmer, we decided to go snorkelling, and the look on his face during the experience was priceless! It will always be one of our most cherished memories.
Best meal of the trip
We went to El Picoteo in Hotel El Convento, and we tried a lot of dishes on their menu. We would rate the service 5 on 5.
Most romantic moment
We were strolling down old San Juan when we saw a street artist playing a violin close to a beautiful church. And everything just seemed so perfect that moment- the music, the setting, the views. It was exactly what they show in movies, but only this one was real with no added drama!
