This couple’s magical honeymoon at the Maldives was filled to the brim with adventure and romantic sunsets.
For Yamini and Tanishq, celebrating their first days as newlyweds at the Maldives was an obvious choice. With its azure skies, bright blue oceans, lush greenery and well-deserved privacy, this destination was the perfect place for the duo to revel in the lap of nature while enjoying a whole host of adventures.
How They Met
Tanishq shares, “We first met via common friends and quickly connected with each other via social media. After that, nothing could stop us from falling in love. I proposed to her on Friendship’s Day last year, our families met shortly after, and here we are today.”
Honeymoon Planning
When it came to choosing their honeymoon destination, Maldives was the first choice for Yamini and Tanishq. Tanishq shares, “I am a beach person and what better place than Maldives for water babies like us? We were completely in sync when it came to our choice of destination, and even echoed the same in tandem! The decision was finalized that very moment itself. However, just as a backup plan, we also chose London as a second option.
For our stay, we chose Cinnamon Dhonveli, Maldives and I think we made a fantastic choice as their hospitality is unbeatable.”
Honeymoon Highlights
The duo’s trip was full of magical moments and thrilling adventures. Tanishq, especially, was highly impressed by the scenic views and the warm welcome. He recollects, “Maldives is a very unique place and we did our very best to explore it together, everywhere on bicycles. We also did a sandbank tour and a snorkeling session which was incredibly fun.
But it was the hospitality and the beautiful sunset views at Cinnamon Dhonveli that really stood out for us. Yamini and I both prefer vegetarian food but most of the buffet menu was non-vegetarian. However, the head chef made an exception for us and always asked us our preferences or surprised us by whipping up a delicious meal. While Yamini loved indulging herself at their live pizza counter, I took plenty of second helpings of the fresh salads, smoothies, and pesto pasta.”
Most romantic moment
“For us, the most romantic moment was at the seaside ramp where we were surrounded by turquoise water on all three sides. I remember we sat there for a long time reminiscing about the old days and sharing a laugh over the good memories.”, shares Tanishq.
Must-experience
“Stay for at least two nights in a water villa, it’s a surreal experience! Activities like snorkeling, cruising on a glass-bottom canoe, the dolphin cruise and a beach dinner shouldn’t be missed either. But I would definitely recommend getting the Swedish Massage at Cinnamon Dhonveli as it leaves you relaxed after all the adventure.”, shared Tanishq.
Can-avoid
“We had our trip planned for seven days but honestly, if you’re on a budget and depending on your preferences, it could be cut short to five days. Personally, I preferred the long and relaxed trip we had. There’s absolutely nothing to avoid at the Maldives, be a sport and say yes to every adventurous activity. Also, carry lots and lots of sunscreen!”, advises Tanishq.
