How We Met
“Hiral and I met via the online dating website called 'Coffee Meets Bagel' and instantly felt a deep connection. It was like we’d known each other for years! Our first date went on for eight hours, and we’ve never looked back since then. Forward a few months of such unforgettable dates and endless conversations, and we just knew we were meant to be. We soon got our parents involved and celebrated our roka within a year of dating. With him, I feel those butterflies we’ve always heard about - of happiness, excitement, and love! Moreover, we also share similar interests such as traveling, cooking and working out.”

Wedding Venues
“Both Hiral and I wanted something away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Nestled among twelve acres of manicured gardens, The Rockleigh in New Jersey stood out as the perfect location. The venue impressed us with its beautiful outdoor fountain and gazebo where we initially planned to host our ceremony, but due to the inclement weather, we chose the magnificent ballroom. The staff at The Rockleigh went to great lengths to bring our vision to life.”

Wedding Planning
“Planning an Indian wedding in the US was much easier than planning one in India! Coordinating with vendors in New Delhi and Mumbai was a task, but other than that, our experience was amazing. Our invitations were designed in India by Upani in New Delhi. We also had Bridal Arts & Events as our wedding planner, whose team members were on their toes throughout the wedding. The remarkable decor that made for a wonderland was designed and assembled by Elegant Affairs. Saima Khan handled my makeup and Nadia D Photography captured all our special moments.”

Wedding Functions

Mehndi
“The wedding celebrations kickstarted with an intimate mehndi function at the beautiful Loft 29 in Manhattan, New York. With gorgeous and antique furniture, the place exudes an unmatched allure. Adding to the homely vibe, many, (including Hiral) also let loose on the dancefloor! While he picked most of his outfits from Gujral Sons, my lehenga for the function was customized by Mahima Mahajan.”

Sangeet
“The sangeet function was hosted at yet another stunning venue - the Manhattan Penthouse on Fifth Avenue. Situated on the 18th floor, it has beautiful arched windows, a classic high wooden bar, grand vintage piano, and French doors. The property offers a 360-degree view of the Manhattan skyline which makes for a breathtaking backdrop! The venue also happened to be the place where Hiral and I attended our first event as a couple. The decor was lit with vibrant colors, beautiful lanterns, canopies, fancy benches, thrones and umbrellas which made the event seem like a joyous celebration which it was. I wore a green Arpita Mehta lehenga adorned with antique gold thread work.”

Wedding
“The theme for the big day was red and gold, and we incorporated elaborate red rose bouquets, chandeliers, and candles in the setup. My outfit was customized by Annie & Nimmu and featured stunning zardozi work and intricate embroidery. Standing by my side, my now husband wore an ivory and gold sherwani.”

Reception
"The theme for the reception decor was similar to the wedding — elements such as large cherry blossom trees, gorgeous centerpieces, and candelabras made for the elegant set-up. We also had gold charger plates, and red rose settings on each table to add a further dreamy touch. My attire for the night was customized by Annie and Nimmu, and Hiral’s three-piece Ermenegildo Zegna suit was by Mohan’s Tailors in Manhattan."
