From a blind date to beautiful wedding festivities, Diviya and Sumit’s wedding in the US was heady with breathtaking decor and memorable moments.
Whites and pastels at Indian weddings are like a breath of fresh air. Diviya and Sumit’s nuptials in the US was an occasion marked by elegant, muted hues, but vibrant with action, excitement and merrymaking. Lin and Jirsa captured the dreamy events and their visuals are definitely a highlight of this memorable wedding. Here are some details of their big day.
How We Met
Diviya and Sumit were set up by a mutual friend who thought that the two of them would be just right for each other. When a blind date was proposed, both of them decided that it was worth a shot and as it turns out, it was one of the best decisions that they ever took!
Haldi
This daytime ceremony was filled with cheer. The glowing bride wore a purple outfit for the function and matched it with a pearl necklace. To finish her look, she styled her tresses in a braid that was adorned with a beautiful hair accessory.
Wedding
The outdoor wedding was held at Hyatt Regency, Newport Beach. In the middle of the venue stood their pristine mandap and bright blooms were used to add a pop of color to the otherwise monochrome decor. Diviya wore a gorgeous blush lehenga that featured intricate gold detailing and paired it with a dupatta that was trimmed with a beautiful lace border. to bring in a sense of synchronicity, Sumit opted for an ivory sherwani which he styled with a dupatta in the same shade of his bride’s ensemble.
Reception
The all-white theme of the wedding continued at the reception at the The Duke Hotel, Newport Beach. White flowers suspended from the ceiling were used in contrast with lush green leaves and the venue was transformed to resemble an enchanting secret garden ready to welcome the new couple.
