How We Met
“Our love story began with us being best friends. Nikhil and I met during the first week of college at the University of Southern California. We started dating in our last year of college and survived a long distance relationship when he went to medical school at Philadelphia while I went to medical school in Los Angeles.”

The Proposal
“After 5 years of dating, Nikhil whisked me off to a surprise weekend trip to London. He treated me like a real princess and surprised me with a beautiful proposal!”

Wedding Planning
“One of my passions is décor so I took great interest in designing each of my events and had so much fun planning and working with all the amazing vendors. We had superb talent to work with; our wedding planner handled every detail of the wedding, the makeup artists made me look and feel beautiful and our photographer and videographer who captured our big Indian wedding with such intimacy and ease.”

Wedding Venue
“Since both of my brothers also got married at St. Regis, we were already familiar and happy with how they operate. There was some construction on the hotel premises that was going on around the same time we were planning the wedding. It worried me even though the staff assured me everything would be done by the time the wedding rolled around. And it did!”

Wedding Functions

Wedding
“We wanted an intimate wedding with only our close family and relatives and the celebrations were understated and sophisticated. Our decor was kept simple, with beautiful tones of crimson and purple and a pop of red. Since dark tones dominated, I wore a beautiful red lehenga and accessorized with a bright red dupatta and stunning gold jewellery. My makeup artist made sure that my look was subtle and chic, with an emphasis on the eyes. Nikhil looked like a maharaja in a beige sherwani which beautifully contrasted with my bright lehenga.”

Reception
“There was magic in the air at our reception and I like to think that the evening resonated with our own effortless style and elegance. The entire ballroom was decorated with flowers. The chandelier in the center looked mystical with the floral decor. We chose to present an exquisite dessert table instead of a wedding cake. I picked a shimmery pastel pink lehenga for the reception and Nikhil wore a black tux. Great music and dancing followed and it was such a memorable set of moments for us.”
