Nilam and Jag

Met through matrimonials and tied the knot in celebrations that were a mix of Gujrati and Punjabi traditions

Nilam and Jag met through a matrimonial site. After the first exchange of emails both seemed sceptical but that didn’t stop them in wanting to make the effort to get to know each other. Nilam says, “We talked on phone and felt the connection instantly. We couldn’t stop talking on the phone, but even better, we had a stronger connection in person.”

“Before meeting me, Jag happened to meet my cousins in Vegas, and my family fell in love with him”, says Nilam. After the duo spent more time they and their parents were clear about the future plans.Jag soon proposed to Nilam at the romantic Reunion Tower in Dallas, and the wedding was held at the Hilton El Conquistador, Arizona in September 2012. They currently live in Maryland.

Jag is Punjabi and Nilam is Gujarati so their pre-wedding events and wedding celebrations were a mix of both traditions. Sameer and Sonia of Sameer Soorma Photography who photographed the wedding say: “It was a gorgeous fusion wedding! And they were such a calm and easy going couple. on the day of the wedding when everything was going great and all of a sudden it started to rain. Not even once did we see the couple panic though the Barat was about to start.

Their mandap and wedding decor was stunning with exuberant and vibrant fresh flower garlands draped around all four sides. The food spread included Punjabi and Gujarati delicacies.
