Nupur and Dherain’s wedding celebrations in California exuded the freshness and elegance of a beautiful garden with lush backdrops and blooming displays.
Dherain and Nupur were clear that they wanted an outdoor wedding. So they planned their California wedding in a beautiful outdoor location and incorporated gorgeous decor that fused natural and manmade elements. Check out the highlights below.
How We Met
Nupur and Dherain were set up in California through mutual friends. They dated for about two years before they decided to get married. Dherain proposed to Nupur in Queenstown, New Zealand, where she is originally from.
Wedding Venue
Finding outdoor venues that could accommodate a large guest count was challenging. However, the couple decided to get married at Diamond Bar Centre in California. Nupur wanted an outdoor wedding and this proved to be the perfect venue as it commanded stunning views of the surrounding mountains and had large events spaces.
Wedding Functions

The decor for this auspicious event was traditional and incorporated lots of floral archways. Mirrored vases with white flowers were used as centerpieces and the mehndi color scheme of pinks, oranges, cream, and gold was followed here too.
Mehndi
A combination of pinks, cream and gold formed the decor’s color theme for the mehndi. The use of Jaipur umbrellas, drapes, bright cushions, lanterns, candles and floating lotus centerpieces added pops of color and light. Nupur made a photo booth backdrop which comprised a chalkboard with paper flowers. They changed the name of the event on the backdrop easily as required. Guests enjoyed taking lots of Polaroid photos, and even the food signs matched the chalkboard theme.
Wedding
Blush, cream and floral set the tone for their gorgeous nuptials. Hydrangeas, roses, and ivy were used as the main floral elements which made the venue looked like something out of a dream. The classic garden theme worked well for the wedding with the venue decorated in pure white and lush green. The mandap was beautiful and the white chairs provided a picture-perfect contrast. Nupur wore a pure ivory lehenga with floral accents, while Dherain opted for a regal sherwani.
Reception
The backdrop of a lush green hedge lent this elegant function a ‘posh picnic in a gorgeous garden’ vibe. White drapes, blush blooms and chandeliers were some of the decor highlights. Floating candles and candelabras added a glow to the proceedings.
