How They Met
Gokul elaborates, “We were introduced to each other in the spring of 2020 by our parents. With the covid pandemic at its peak in New York and Michigan, we started with just a simple text message at first, which soon turned into Instagram chatting and long phone calls late into the night where we discussed everything under the sun! She made me smile a lot and I made her laugh! We finally met in person in Michigan which was later followed by our first date in Long Island, New York. I knew soon enough that she was the one for me and I popped the question to her in August that year in front of our parents where she said yes!”

Wedding Planning
Since the bride grew up in the US and the groom hailed from India originally, the Tamil-Telugu wedding was truly an amalgamation of different cultures and customs which struck the perfect balance between both. As the bride’s family is based out of Ohio, they decided to host the celebrations at Hyatt Regency Columbus and entrusted the team of B3 Event Management to pull off this multicultural affair.

Talking about their experience working with them, they share, “B3 managed the event from start to finish, right from building the custom website to managing RSVPs and even ensuring that the ‘Thank You’ cards were printed and delivered to each guest. Since both of us kept quite busy with work, they shouldered all of the responsibility and made the experience a breeze for us. Everything felt like it was straight out of a fairy tale and our guests who enjoyed themselves immensely found the experience to be elegant and extremely well put-together.”

Wedding Functions
Pellikuthuru Function and Haldi ceremony
The festivities began with the Pellikuthuru and Haldi functions. The intimate soirees were held at the bride’s family home which was decked with a lively decor of marigolds. The bride wore a red suit with floral jewellery for the Haldi, while a beautiful lilac Kanjeevaram saree was her choice for the Pellikuthuru ceremony. The rituals were attended by family and close friends which also included a sumptuous lunch by Bawarchi Columbus.

Mehndi
The bridal Mehndi was held post-lunch for which Padmini sported a colourful lehenga as she got her arms covered in gorgeous henna designs. A simple yet stunning backdrop of colourful prints, marigolds and rich blue drapes framed the ceremony and made for some gorgeous clicks.

Wedding
The ballroom was completely transformed into a whimsical wonderland with the ethereal decor of white and gold accented with lush green vines. The 60-foot long aisle flanked with stunning white and pink flowers was the focal point of the occasion, leading to a deconstructed mandap that beautifully bridged tradition with contemporary elegance for the modern Telugu wedding. The day event offered a sumptuous breakfast and lunch for the guests which was relished with great fervour. The groom arrived in a rousing baraat riding an electric auto-rickshaw, and the couple dressed in rich ensembles of red and gold for the occasion.

Reception
The ballroom was transformed once again for the Reception function. Adorned with the breath-taking decor of chandeliers, floral canopies and more in white and gold, as well as a foil-wrapped dance floor, the space was bathed in a golden glow that was reflected from all sides for a magical atmosphere. The cocktail hour held outside was followed by the first dance and cake cutting by the couple which led to an evening of dance and enjoyment which continued into the wee hours of the morning.
