Trushti and Nikhil, New Jersey
Set against lush lawns and flowering trees, this fresh spring wedding is decor goals!
A vibrant combination of their unique personalities, Trushti Patel and Nikhil Patel’s intimate wedding in New Jersey was full of personal touches and warm family moments. Watch their wedding revelries unfold below.
How they met
US-based Trushti and Nikhil were brought together by their families through an arranged setup. Trushti, who works as an IT professional, was flying to visit her sister in California when her mother who lives in India sent her information about Nikhil, a commercial pilot. Trushti was instantly intrigued and once the couple met, there was no looking back.
The bride shares, “Nikhil planned to fly me around NYC in one of those small charter planes, but when I arrived, he said he could not make it and that one of his friends would take me instead. I was understandably upset, and clearly had no idea what was in store for me. While doing the pre-checks on the runway, I saw him coming towards us and perked up thinking that he was going to join us after all. I suddenly heard Bollywood music and curious, I stepped out to check and to my surprise, I saw all my friends, my sister, the “Will You Marry Me?” sign, and him bending down on one knee! As I said “yes”, it started raining. It was truly a magical proposal”.
The couple tied the knot with a spring wedding in New Jersey, for which they chose Sheraton Eatontown Hotel for its beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces. They entrusted the planning to Detailed Affairs and decor to the team of Wedding Design Decor. Beautiful moments of their festivities were captured in flawless shots by House of Talent Studio. The bride shares, “Wedding shopping with your family is one of the experiences you look forward to the most. However, since the planning happened amidst the Pandemic due to which I could not travel to India, I got my entire wedding wardrobe from some fantastic wedding design houses online, such as Marwar Couture, Payal Keyal, and more.”
While the Vidhi or the Haldi function was held indoors, it was brimming with the quintessential sunny vibrance of the traditional function. The bride looked stylish in a fusion dhoti-lehenga ensemble in lemon yellow by Kynah, which she teamed with quirky accessories and floral jewelry. The groom wore a mustard silk kurta for the occasion.
The Mehndi ceremony saw a colorful confluence of decor, fun activities and family moments. The bride looked radiant in a bright pink lehenga by Qbik, perfectly matching the groom’s Bandi jacket.
Hosted against the idyllic background of lush hotel lawns and flowering trees, the morning wedding saw romantic spring decor in hues of white and pink. An abundance of roses decked the aisle as well as the mandap, while a canopy of leaves and flowers hung over the wedding ceremony.
The festivities began with a lively Baraat procession consisting of Bollywood bangers, colorful smoke bombs, and a choreographed performance by the groom’s sisters & brothers on their family’s favorite song ‘chotte chotte bhaiyo ke’. Dressed in a rich lehenga by Marwar Couture that contrasted the pastel decor, the bride entered with her sister. She also wore kaleerein customized with hanging airplanes as a token to Nikhil’s passion and profession, which he loved. The couple ended the wedding on a high note by driving off in their Slingshot car.
The Reception was a grand party of love and celebration packed with glitz and glamour. The groom looked dapper in a tuxedo, while the bride dazzled in a spectacular gold gown by Payal Keyal. The groom’s love for flying was honored yet again with an interesting travel themed seating chart and plane motifs on the cake. Whimsical decor of white and blue decked the ballroom, while the couple performed on the ‘Aeroplane’ song amidst a dreamy white smoke. Touching speeches by the couple’s loved ones capped the night.
