International shoe designer Aruna Seth made waves with her wedding wardrobe that ranged from a delicate tulle gown to a Swarovski crystal-embellished wedding lehenga.
Surrounded by the idyllic beauty of Lake Como, Aruna Seth, founder and creative director of Aruna Seth Shoes tied the knot with her beau Thomas in a spectacular five-day celebration. The shoe designer whose creations have been sported by well-known actors and socialites, Aruna was the spotlight’s muse as she wore myriad outfits that spelt glam.
Wedding Venue
Offering a dramatic backdrop while mixing old-world charm with modern luxuries, Lake Como in Italy makes dreams come true for couples who’re looking to tie the knot in style. For the dreamy white wedding Aruna and Thomas chose the majestic Villa Erba, while they picked the breezy Villa Bonomi for their Indian wedding.
Wedding Planning
Initially slated to tie the knot last year at Lake Como itself, the couple had to change their plans due to the pandemic. Instead, they opted for a quiet civil ceremony at Chelsea Old Town Hall and were later joined in by their close circle of loved ones for drinks and dinner at The Berkeley in Knightsbridge, London. However, the couple was still keen on making their dream of a grand wedding at Lake Como come true and so once the situation eased up, they decided to host an intimate fusion wedding at Lake Como in the month of September. Gifted with a sharp sense of fashion, Aruna chose each of her outfits carefully and wore her own label’s shoes at every event!
Weddings Functions
Welcome Boat Party
Looking every bit a princess straight out of a fairytale book, Aruna flaunted a strapless pink floral tulle gown with a fitted bodice, a full skirt with a detachable bustle, and a long train that trailed gracefully behind her. To further amplify the dreamy dress, the bride chose to style her hair in loose waves and accessorized her look with a necklace encrusted with pink and green gems that were in sync with her dress.
White Wedding
Crafted by Zuhair Murad, the famous Lebanese designer, Aruna’s tulle wedding gown was a visual treat with its romantic embellishments which she paired with repurposed chantilly floor-length veil from her own limited edition bridal shoe collection. On the makeup front, the bride kept it simple with a nude lip while a pair of statement diamond earrings brushed her shoulders.
Mehndi
Adding a dash of extra color to the celebrations, Aruna chose a girly teaberry pink and smoke-grey floral lehenga with crystal embellishments that glimmered with her every twirl. With its full sleeves and deep cut back, this Falguni Shane Peacock lehenga was perfect for the sunny Mehndi celebrations that overlooked the lake. With her hair in a side-swept braid adorned with blooms, Aruna was an apt representation of a modern Indian bride!
Indian Wedding
A couture lehenga custom-designed by Falguni Peacock, Aruna’s Indian wedding lehenga balanced traditional as well as modern sensibilities. With its silver embellishments accompanied by Swarovski crystals, this lehenga was created after Aruna (who has half Indian heritage) and Falguni met in Mumbai where the bride explained her vision to the skilled designer. Embroidered with iridescent floating butterflies and flowers, the full-sleeved silver lehenga gave one the impression of a secret garden while the happy couple took their phere flanked by tall trees on the lush green lawn.
Reception
Fusing style and sustainability, Aruna’s reception outfit was custom made by Rani Zakhem who used silk organza and sliver lamé thread to create a flowy, strapless gown. Pastel blue in hue, the gown was swathed in a delightful array of light pastel floral prints that subtly enhanced the unique color of the gown while blending in seamlessly with the surroundings. For footwear, the bride opted for the emerald green stain heels from her own collection that added a delightful pop of rich color to the entire look.
