Diva Dhawan Sheth
A blend of Indian traditions and classic New York charm, this bride’s wedding wardrobe screamed ‘Cool-girl chic’!
For her wedding to Entrepreneur Ronak Sheth, Model turned Personal Stylist and Fashion Entrepreneur Diwa Dhawan Sheth channeled the same easygoing cool-girl flair she was famous for in front of the camera. The Indian-born New Yorker couple wanted their wedding to highlight the best of their worlds while honoring their love for the Big Apple, the city where they met and fell in love, and Diwa’s modish bridal wardrobe mirrored that sentiment.
Having worked in fashion for over a decade, the bride had a singular vision for her wardrobe and worked with young designers as much as she could, such as Abhinav Mishra who designed both her Wedding and Reception lehengas. She also expressed her love for ivory in her bridal wardrobe, opting for stunning modern pieces for her bridal lunch and rooftop party.
The festivities kicked off with a bridal lunch at one of the bride’s favorite New York spots with her closest girlfriends. Opting for a flowing ivory number by Cinq à Sept with ruched detailing, Diwa kept it modern and minimalistic for the breezy day affair, finishing her look with strappy white sandals by Stuart Weitzman and chunky silver earrings. Slicked-back hair and a glowing visage pulled together the look with panache.
For her bridal mehndi and chooda ceremony at Swan Club On The Harbour in Long Island the next day, Diva kept it classic with a charming Ritu Kumar Creation in mustard and gold. The sequinned blouse with a plunging neck added the perfect modern touch to the floral detailing of the lehenga. Jhumkas from New Jersey-based RK Jewels, floral jewelry, and minimal makeup softly complemented her outfit while letting her natural bridal glow shine through!
As the evening transitioned into a sunset rooftop party, Diva shimmied into a dreamy Italian summer vibe with a custom silk skirt and top set from Lénne Atelier. Standing out in ivory against the colorful crowd, the bride dazzled with her sleek backless silhouette, exquisite crystal detailing, and statement scooped cowl back with a crystal scarf. A modern updo and bronzed skin perfectly completed her look, lending her a goddess-like mystical glow.
Wedding and Reception
For her wedding at the largest waterfront venue in Manhattan, Diva was every bit the modern Indian bride in a stunning red lehenga by Abhinav Mishra. Embellished with all-over mirror work, the lehenga was imbibed with a dreamy princess vibe with a floor-length trailing dupatta in nude and gold. Finished with Polki jewels and minimalistic hair and makeup, Diva looked poised and demure.
Stepping up the glamor quotient for her Reception, the bride wowed in a couture gown by Reem Acra in a decadent emerald green. The mermaid silhouette beautifully accentuated her svelte figure while the exquisite diamante straps and lab-grown diamond necklace set added that oomph. For the surprise dance performances, she made one last costume change and slipped into a stunning champagne gold lehenga by Abhinav Mishra.
