Hanna Khan

The first ever Indian bride to don Elie Saab Haute Couture, Hanna’s shimmering pink gown encrusted with Swarovski crystals is sure to make your jaws drop.

The elusive beauty and wondrous feel of Elie Saab Couture often seen on Hollywood’s top female stars gracing the red carpet is something that every girl dreams of wearing for her wedding. This dream certainly came true for fashion, beauty and luxury influencer Hanna Khan. With a stunning bridal wardrobe composed of gorgeous designs exclusively from Ohaila Khan and Elie Saab for her wedding to long-term beau Shahrukh Merchant, Hanna Khan took bridal couture aspirations to a new high.

Wedding Planning
The renowned blogger tied the knot in a spectacular 2 day destination wedding amidst the royal splendor of the pink city of Jaipur. The bride wore a choice selection of ensembles from the premium designer label Ohaila Khan for her Haldi, Mehndi, Sangeet and Nikaah. Ohaila Khan, which is owned by Hanna’s sister, is the only Indian designer Hanna wore as she believes that her sister not only understands her style the best but also strikes the exact balance of traditional and unconventional looks that Hanna was aspiring for.

For her Reception, she was outfitted by Mr. Elie Saab himself for a one-of-a-kind couture gown that weighed 30kgs and was painstakingly created using thousands of man-hours. Hanna, who had met Mr. Saab back in 2019 while attending the wedding of Elie Saab Jr, was given private access to the bridal suite and collection at the Elie Saab headquarters in Beirut. The design was conceptualized and created with a lot of back and forth during the pandemic, finally resulting in a surreal masterpiece that was breathtaking to behold.

The palatial wedding was planned to perfection by Mpire Events and executed by Atisuto Events. The festivities were captured in ethereal shots by Recall Pictures. The bride was given stunning looks by Meera Sakhrani and Ritika Hairstylist for each of the functions.

Wedding Functions
Mehndi
The bride’s distinct and unique sense of style stood out in the first function itself, where she donned an exquisitely embroidered red and white lehenga, an offbeat color choice for a Mehndi function. The stunning ensemble was enhanced further with unusual elements, such as a long trailing half cape design on the blouse, and green stone accents which perfectly matched the green stonework of her traditional jewellery. She kept her makeup to a minimum with a rosy glow and a demure half updo hairstyle for the outfit to shine.

Haldi
Hanna chose the traditional glow of yellow for her Haldi, donning a flared sharara and kurta ensemble with a statement dupatta. The sunny mustard tones of the attire were enhanced with intricate gold embroidery, mirror-work and other detailing. The bride’s natural beauty shone with a clear face, minimal makeup, delicate flower jewellery and a sleek, stylish mane.

Sangeet
Hanna dialed up the glamour quotient for her Sangeet in an exquisitely embellished and detailed lilac lehenga with a dramatic flair, perfect for a night of twirling. What caught one’s eye however was the statement flowing cape sleeves of the blouse that finished the look! A dramatic pony with soft flowing curls was the perfect accompaniment to the ensemble, as was the elegant diamond and emerald set that she sported with élan.

Nikaah
Embracing the traditional ivory allure for her Nikaah ceremony, the bride looked ethereal in a pearl embellished lehenga, bustier and jacket set with over-all detailing. The elaborate, luxurious work beautifully contrasted with the edgy fashionable elements of the design such as the open criss-cross back detail for an effect that was utterly unique and divine. Hanna topped off her look with diamond jewels, a sleek up-do and a diaphanous ivory veil.

Reception
The one-of-a-kind custom made blush toned Elie Saab gown, despite being extravagant, still spoke of an elegant simplicity in its design. The tonal dress with layers and layers of tulle was bedecked with glittering Swarovski crystals and topped with a delicate blush veil, all of 8 meters long.
Hanna glowed with soft dewy makeup in romantic blush tones to complement the ensemble, and added the regal, yet minimalist glamor of a single layer rose-hued diamond necklace set to finish the look.
