From glamorous outfits to regal attires reflecting Indian aesthetics, this bride wore them all with élan!
Knowledge about the latest in fashion never hurts when you want to be a stylish bride. Having worked with a fashion magazine, Isha had her ear to the ground, which helped her put together a stellar wedding wardrobe.
She shares with us the details of each of her wedding looks here.
“Rahul and I are from Dehradun so we decided to host our wedding there. The mehndi, being an intimate function, took place at our respective houses. The events each saw a small gathering of close family and friends. For our cocktail party, which was preceded by an engagement, we shifted base to Luxuria Farms. We got married at the Regenta LP Vilas. The ceremony took place on the lawn, where a beautiful canopy served as our mandap.”
“I am an active follower of WeddingSutra and I found my makeup artist as well as a wedding photographer through their Instagram page. Makeup by SP Eastland took care of my look and I definitely loved the outcome. A seasoned professional, she gave me just the look I wanted, keeping in mind my facial features and style. “I used to work at a leading fashion magazine earlier and developed a good understanding of upcoming trends in the market, which helped me finalize my trousseau and plan my wedding outfits.”
“My mehndi was a daytime function which called for an outfit that was colorful yet elegant. While I was at Shahpur Jat in Delhi shopping for my trousseau, I came across this store called Lasha. I saw a beautiful lehenga on one of the mannequins. It was in a soft pink shade, featuring delicate sequin work and pastel embroidery. I fell in love with it and decided that this is what I would wear for the function. My makeup was neutral and natural with just a splash of pink eye shadow and nude lips.”
“The theme for our cocktail party was ‘glam’ and I wanted to be extra at this event! The moment I saw this gorgeous emerald green lehenga on Nadine Dhody’s Instagram page, it had my heart. The lehenga had layers of tulle ruffles and was paired with a blouse covered in sparkly, chunky embellishments. I wanted to dress to perfection for my fairytale moment and wearing this piece made me feel like a princess. I chose to go with smoky eyes and sleek hair to complete my look for this evening.”
“Finally, for the wedding, I wanted something traditional yet unique and only Sabyasachi could have made the most breathtaking outfit that reflect both these qualities. I chose a conventional design, but in burgundy instead of the classic red, and paired it with a colorful navratna necklace to enhance my look. As my outfit looked so good, I didn’t want my hair and makeup to clash with it. I complimented the attire with gold-toned eyes and peach blush, along with a messy bun.”
Advice For Brides-To-Be
“Finding a good makeup artist is most important for a bride because they can make or break a look. No matter how amazing the outfit is, if your hair and makeup is average then your getup will appear average. However, if it is done well, it will enhance your overall look regardless of what you’re wearing.”
