Wedding Functions

Sangeet
“Being an image consultant and a stylist by profession, I was very particular about my trousseau choices and wanted each outfit to be a true representation of my personality. Hence, I got both the outfits customized from designers of my choice. I spent a lot of time working on the colors of my outfits and designers Shruti Singla and Bani Batra also helped me with the swatches of colors I desired. Since I wanted to tap into the contemporary vibe for my sangeet, I chose to wear a gorgeous pastel purple lehenga with a halter choli which had various embellishments and mirror work designs by designer Shruti Singla. I kept my jewelry and makeup to the bare minimum and went a bit glam on my wavy hairstyle designed by makeup artist Shikha Chandra.”

Wedding
“I had very contemporary décor for my wedding, and to complement that chic aesthetic, I chose to wear a stunning aubergine creation by New Delhi-based designer Bani Batra. It was a beautiful, fully embellished zardozi lehenga with a beautiful net dupatta which I accessorized with a ‘passa’ (forehead ornament), 'nath' (nose ring) and a statement choker. For the makeup, I let Shikha call the shots. She made me look flawless on both the functions, and I got a lot of compliments for the immaculate matte look she created on my big day!”

“I was particularly happy with We Images, our photography team. Every team member was there with us till the end of each function. They all worked very hard to capture all the fun we had and the memories we made over the two days.”

Advice for brides-to-be
“This is your time, so enjoy the attention and adulation you receive at your wedding. Don’t forget to get your pictures clicked - especially the couple shots! Keep some time earmarked for your couple shoot. You will thank yourself when you have a look at the photos later! Another small but very helpful thing - try to pick an ensemble with a light dupatta, which will typically be pinned to your head all through the duration of the wedding. If the dupatta is lighter, you will sail through the long hours with lesser discomfort.”
