Wedding Venue
“As soon as Punya and I got engaged, we went on a hunt to find the perfect venue for our wedding. We had a destination wedding in mind, but as most of our relatives live in Mumbai, we ended up hosting it in the ‘Maximum City’ (Author Suketu Mehta named Mumbai ‘Maximum City’ in his book) itself! Our guest list exceeded our expected number so finding a suitable hotel in Mumbai was difficult. That is when my father suggested the Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre Hotel in Powai. He loves the landscape and lake views from the hotel and thought it would make for a perfect wedding venue.”

Wedding Functions

Sangeet
“We had organized for a very edgy sangeet function which almost looked like a fun live concert. The stage was fully illuminated with LED lights which formed both our names in the backdrop. To match the glitzy vibe of my sangeet, I chose to wear a lovely champagne Falguni & Shane peacock ensemble that featured stunning silver and golden appliques work. The lehenga was gorgeous and comfortable for me to wear all through this busy event.”

Wedding
“I started my ultimate wedding lehenga hunt immediately after my engagement ceremony. I had always envisioned myself in a beautiful deep red Sabyasachi Mukherjee lehenga which had timeless appeal. From the moment I set my eyes on the one I picked, I knew I would look great in it. Sabyasachi has a knack of understanding brides and making them look beautiful, so I blindly followed his design genius! I accessorized my lehenga with an intricate statement polki necklace, embellished ‘haath phool’ (hand ornament), earrings and a ‘maang tikka’ (forehead ornament). It was very special to have my best friend actress Athiya Shetty by my side on the most important day of my life. She played the perfect bridesmaid and also looked absolutely breathtaking in a pink and orange Anita Dongre ensemble. My makeup for the evening was handled by the maestro Ojas Rajani who gave me a very beautiful ‘au natural’ look for my special day!”

Reception
“Since we had an Indo-Western theme for our reception party, I wanted to match the occasion with an attire that would look sophisticated and chic. For this, I chose to go with a lovely peach Dolly J ensemble that I purchased from the designer’s flagship store in Bandra. I teamed the gorgeous dress with my favorite diamond jewellery to complete my beautiful ‘princess-bride’ look.”
