Bride Sanchita paired her grandmother's jewellery with a chic lehenga that included dual dupattas.

Starting from a light daytime outfit for her mehndi, eventually moving to a gorgeous lehenga with detailed work, each one of Sanchita’s wedding looks showcased unique aesthetics. Her well-curated trousseau was a sight to behold about which she tells us in detail.

How They Met
“Prasoon and I met as colleagues and started dating each other while we were in two different cities. He was working in Hyderabad while I was in Pune. However, after being together for three years, when we finally decided to get married, we were in different continents altogether! He was studying in Canada, and I was working in Bangalore. We never let distance get in the way of our relationship; in fact, it only added to the strength of our bond.”

Wedding Planning

“It was my sister who helped me plan my wedding, but we could not have put all of this together without the help of the blogs on WeddingSutra and its Instagram account. Their articles not only extended inspiration from celebrities and real brides but also helped me in identifying my priorities in terms of the wedding budget.”

“Liven Massey and Arck Makeovers were my hair and makeup artists respectively for my sangeet and wedding. Both of them together make the perfect team, and the thing about them that stood out to me was how quick they were with their work. Weddings can be very hectic and to have them by your side is a boon since they wrap up in time for you to be able to relax a little and click a few bridal portraits.”

“Simran from Beginnings For You is an amazing photographer with excellent people skills. She captured all the precious moments from our big day, and also became part of my family. She has an eye for detail and creativity with which she transforms simple moments into artistic frames.”

Weddings Functions

Mehndi
“Our wedding festivities began with the mehndi for which I wanted my attire to exude an Indo-Western feel. A beautiful sharara with a crop top and dupatta from The Rolly was the outfit that I chose. Since this was an daytime outdoor function, I wanted something bridal yet easy on the eyes, and this was perfect for me. Saloni Jain of Ziva Art Jewellery and her mother helped me choose some amazing lightweight accessories. They look gorgeous and got me a ton of compliments! I was really happy with my decision of going with their creations.”

Haldi
“For the haldi, I stuck to a color that most brides opt for – yellow. I paired my saree with a fuchsia blouse and a pair of kolhapuri slippers that were customized for me by my sister and were a perfect match for my attire.”

Sangeet
“As soon as we decided on ‘Glitter and Shimmer’ as the dress code for our sangeet, the first designer that came to my mind was Abhinav Mishra for his mirror work. I went into his store, looking for something lightweight yet glamorous. Initially, he was confused between the outfit that I chose and another one in navy blue. However, he helped me pick a style that would meet my taste and requirement. I have always loved his pieces and was thrilled to wear an ivory and gold silk lehenga from his collection. A pair of comfortable Needledust juttis matched perfectly with my ensemble and allowed me to dance my heart out.”

Wedding
“It had been my dream to wear a red lehenga with gottapati as a bride, and I chanced upon the most beautiful ensemble at the Rajbinder Kaur’s store in Shahpur Jat. I was going to wear my grandmother’s jewellery on my big day, and the outfit matched the pieces perfectly. It came with an ice blue dupatta and another one in fuschia, which I felt upped its appeal tremendously. I paired my bridal lehenga with pink juttis by Pastels and Pop.”

Advice For Brides-To-Be
“Make the most of social media and the internet to get an idea of the kind of look and outfit you want on your big day. Invest in a good photographer and makeup artist even if that means that you have to cut down on your decor budget. The decoration will come off as soon as the ceremonies are over but your pictures and the way you looked in them will stay with you forever.”
