How They Met
“Saksham and I met through common friends when he moved to Kolkata to work on his start-up. We soon started hanging out, and within no time, we fell in love! After dating for three years, we decided to get married.”

Wedding Venue
“Saksham and I planned the entire Sindhi-Punjabi wedding on our own in two months right from deciding the venue to executing every last detail. I always wanted a beach wedding, so Goa was an instant choice. We finalized on The Lalit Golf and Spa Resort in Goa because it has a beautiful beach.”

Wedding Functions

Mehndi
The mehndi ceremony was a splendid outdoor event hosted on the lawns of the property. Marigold flowers were used to create a drape illusion around the bride’s seat, and color smoke bombs filled the air with vivid hues. Sneha chose to wear a stunning Payal Singhal lehenga teamed with an exquisite polki choker necklace. The bride completed this look with loosened tresses tied half up and adorned with baby’s breath blooms.

Sangeet
“The mehndi function in the morning was followed by the sangeet in the evening. The youngsters partied till about seven in the morning.” Sneha wore an opulent white and silver lehenga by Falguni Shane Peacock. The blouse had an interesting addition of a feathered hem while the ghagra was heavily embellished with intricate designs. This creation was teamed with striking diamond jewellery.

Wedding
“The wedding was supposed to be a sunset wedding, but the baraat went on for three hours as Saksham’s friends were rocking the baraat. People were lying down on the floor to stop the baraat from moving ahead. The varmala happened exactly at sunset, followed by the pheras.” For this special ceremony, Sneha opted for the traditional red lehenga with gold work by Sabyasachi Mukherjee. The attire was paired with a kundan maharani haar and matching maang tikka and earrings.

Advice for Brides-to-be

“Plan all your looks to the last detail. Keep reference images of your makeup and hairstyles handy with you for the various functions and also have enough time on hand to get ready so there is no last-minute panic. Plan your draping too. There’s too much that will go on during the wedding for you to get everything right all by yourself. So, delegate all your ideas and work to reliable people. I did use WeddingSutra a lot while planning my wedding. From decor to tips from other brides, it was all very helpful. So, thank you for that.”
