Destination Wedding
Sonal and Sri are from Hyderabad, and the couple and their families
decided to have a Destination Wedding. They considered Jaipur, Kerala,
Goa and Agra before they finally settled on Udaipur. Says Sri: "We
happened to be on vacation in Udaipur earlier this year and loved it.
The weather was awesome, the palaces beautiful and the city had a
truly romantic feel to it. Based on the places we liked during our
trip, the view, the size of the location, and our budget, we settled
on the Sheraton Udaipur Resort & Spa for our stay and the Sangeet. And
the Chunda Palace for our wedding." The wedding was held on December
21, 2011 as per punjabi hindu traditions and the functions included
the Mehendi and Sangeet, Haldi, Wedding ceremonies and a post wedding
lunch at Jagmandir island.

The Wedding Planner
Says Sonal: "We hired Back2Culture as our wedding planner. They were
easy to work with. No surprises or last minute problems. What they
promised is what we got (and much more!) and their services come at a
reasonable price. The most important thing was that both of us had
peace of mind and Garima Kumar, our wedding planner was very sincere
and dedicated."
Wedding Clothes
Since Sonal and Srikrishna were travelling to India just a week before
the wedding they decide to pick their wedding and sangeet attire in
the US only- from Shehnaai Couture, a designer boutique (for Indian
wedding clothes) in Manhattan, New York. Sonal wore a beautiful yellow
and green Sabyasachi ensemble for the sangeet and a Saa. n. she
lehenga for the wedding. Sri wore a blue kurta for the sangeet and a
white achkan for the wedding. He says: "As I did not like the way a
sherwani fits, I considered a Rathore band gala suit before finally
deciding on an achkan. We handpicked the fabrics, the design and
colors of all of our clothes and Shehnaai Couture did a great job!"
