Karishma Menon: Chic and Stylish
By Jaspreet Soni

Karishma, a marketing professional and Kunal, an entrepreneur started dating when they were in college. Since Karishma is Malayali and Kunal is Marwari, they decided to have both styles of weddings one followed by the other on the same day.

Karishma had a very clear idea what she wanted- not very heavy outfits but still something that would stand out and suit her style sense. She had been researching all along on WeddingSutra and found her wedding card designer Sindoor Shah from there as well.

Yellow and Bright Orange Anarkali by Nikasha Tawadey for Mehndi
Karishma wore a beautifully layered yellow and bright orange anarkali by Nikasha for her mehndi. She says, "The best thing about Nikashas designs is that even if there is work all over, the outfit is never heavy. The fitted torso had kundan work in silver and below that there was a lot of flare. The dupatta was bright orange and it had the signature Nikasha latkans at the ends. Kumar Iyer did my makeup for all the occasions. His trademark is accentuating the features without looking too made-up. Karishma tied her hair in a loose side braid and accessorized with tikka and big danglers."

Fuchsia pink and Green Sabyasachi Lehenga for Cocktail
Karishma says, "I was at Sabyasachi's store in Mumbai when this lehenga bowled me over. The skirt was champagne gold with a fuchsia pink and green border at the bottom. It gelled so well with the bottle green velvet blouse and fuchsia pink dupatta. Zardosi work gave it a very rich look yet it was not heavy to wear. It so happened that these were the exact same colors that were used in the decor as well. Karishma wore diamonds and garnets to enhance the look and put loose curls in her hair."

Gold and Cream Saree for Malayali wedding
For this function Karishma wore a Set Mundu the traditional cream color saree with heavy woven gold border. She says, "This is worn by Malayali brides. To add my flavor, I teamed it up with maroon velvet blouse with gold antique work all over. I did a long braid with flowers and wore traditional South Indian heirloom gold jewelry to complement the attire."

Coral Lehenga by Nikasha Tawade for Marwari wedding
Karishma says, "After the Malayali wedding rituals that lasted around 15 minutes, I quickly changed into this gorgeous coral colored lehenga by Nikasha. The skirt was Benarasi net with gold buttis all over. To add texture, there was mustard gold brocade used underneath that brought out a unique play of colors. The blouse had pearl and crystal work. I teamed it up with georgette dupatta that again had trademark latkans. The blouse had pearl and crystal work. I teamed it up with georgette dupatta that again had trademark latkans." She wore Jadau jewelry and put the borla that her mother-in-law gifted her.
