My Best Friend Deeksha’s Wedding
With products from L’Oréal Paris, bride-to-be Deeksha and her squad got mehendi-ready!
Romance met creativity at bride-to-be Deeksha’s shoot with her bridesmaids. Whimsical portraits were taken courtesy an earthy palette, an enchanting rain-kissed forest, heavy with monsoon allure. Rust, moss green and aqua in their attire added to the soft focus surreal nature of the shoot and as the girls posed for the camera, they looked like a bevy of bohemian goddesses caught unguarded.
These perfect looks were wrought with a diverse range of products that combined the latest technology and the finest quality. Makeup artist Amrita Kalyanpur chose L’Oréal Paris knowing the quality ingredients ensure a perfect finish and the advanced formula makes the products ideal for long wear even on a day spent shooting outdoors.
When it was time for the girls to dress the part, they opened the magic wardrobe of Ridhi Mehra and let their imaginations run riot as they sifted through the fluid fabric of these flowing gowns. Accessories were courtesy the unique baubles by Azotiique which not only brought in a touch of sparkle but also elevated the elegance of their getup. And finally, Haseena Shaikh created for each of them a different hairstyle that aligned with the shoot’s aesthetic while also highlighting their individual personalities.
Once ready, the girls stepped out in the open spaces of The Westin Mumbai Garden City where the lush lawns and quaint pathways made for charming spots for them to strike poses. The Wedding Junction went a step further and created a backdrop of fresh white blooms which worked wonderfully in elevating the aesthetics.
The team at Shades came forward to make their day a little more special by preserving their memories in fantastic frames. And Harsh Parmar captured it all in a video that is sure to make it to their list of favorites.
Deeksha told us how the day was nothing like she’d imagined, “I thought this would be a long, tiring day but we wrapped up at a very reasonable hour. The entire team was very hands-on with all that had to be done. Everything was well organized which made the experience so much fun for us!”
Tanya agreed, saying, “At no point during the shoot did we have to wait. Team Shades knew exactly what had to be done and they were so easy to work with.”
For Deeksha’s mehndi, makeup artist Amrita Kalyanpur decided to let this bride’s luminous skin take center stage. The L’Oréal Paris Lumi Powder Glow Illuminator was key in achieving this look. The product is the ultimate in luminosity and has been created not only to highlight key features but also illuminate all over. With a little help from the delicious, deeply pigmented, long lasting L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro Matte Gloss in Nude Allude – the brand’s first whipped matte gloss, the look was perfect.
The bride already loves L’Oréal Paris and said, “L’Oreal Paris products have never let me down. Their range of lipticks is especially great and I loved what Amrita used today. It wasn’t too bright but the perfect pop of color and lasted all day without wearing off.” The make up also went perfectly with her attire, “The subtle make up worked so well with the Ridhi Mehra gown I was wearing. The stunning gown was lightweight and easy to walk around in. It is something that I can easily see myself wearing at my mehndi when the vibe is relaxed yet the bride needs to be dressed up.”

The soft color complemented the outfit perfectly and the velvety texture of the product was ideal for all-day comfort. The L’Oréal Paris Tue match Le Blush in Rosewood gave her cheeks a luminous and healthy-looking glow.
Henna was impressed by Amrita’s work nd especially loved the lip color she chose, “The shade looked soothing and was something that would go with most Indian skin tones.” Henna also loved her clothes and accessories, “The Ridhi Mehra jumpsuit I wore was so comfortable, matched my fashion sensibilities and I really enjoyed being in it. Even the pieces by Azotiique looked lovely. I love jewellery and I thought that the way the ornaments were designed was stunning. On the whole, the look was very well curated and each element went very well with everything else.”

When it came to Mithila’s makeup it was time to play with some warm yet glamorous tones that would match her moss green gown. Makeup artist Amrita knew nothing would have worked better than L’Oréal Paris Color Riche Gold La Palette to ace this look. The unique selection of 10 exclusive shimmering shades gave her just the options she needed in order to bring her vision to life. The look was completed using the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro Matte Gloss Statement Nude. The pro-sculpt applicator rendered a lasting matte color and added dimension to her lips.
“I really liked the lipstick that I wore,” Mithila said, “It was super comfortable all day and Amrita did a great job with all of our looks. Not only did she ensure that she did something different for each one of us but also made sure that it suited us well. The Ridhi Mehra outfit I wore was something I would have never picked for myself. However, when I put it on, I found that it actually looked quite nice on me and flattered my body. I would love to wear it to a sangeet or a cocktail.”

Tanya’s look was built around the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro Matte Gloss Shanghai Scarlet. It’s a statement hue that relies on the product’s long wearability and lush feel to look pigmented and lush all day. Tanya didn’t need a touch up once. The L’Oréal Paris Tue match Le Blush in Rosewood was the perfect finishing touch to her look and complemented her complexion.
While Tanya isn’t someone big on makeup, the products by L’Oréal Paris did manage to make an impression on her. She said, “I have to start by saying that having professional makeup on was quite an experience and I really enjoyed it. Even the shade I had on my lips was such a gorgeous one. I usually stick to nudes, but this, though bright, was lovely. The pigments were so deep I didn’t feel like I had layers of makeup on my face. It was about achieving maximum effect with minimal product and I loved that!” Tanya chose a moss green ensemble by Ridhi Mehra that featured tasseled sleeves and a voluminous skirt. “My gown was so beautiful!” she crooned, “It was very different and I wouldn’t have ever imagined that it would suit me so well had I seen it on a store hanger. I’m so glad I got to try it since it isn’t my usual style and it was a revelation.”
