Modern silhouettes, intricate embellishments and soft hues – actress Kriti Kharbanda experimented and managed to stay true to the classics with her bridal fashion choices. Tying the knot with actor beau Pulkit Samrat at ITC Grand Bharat in Delhi, it’s safe to say that her wedding looks are bound to inspire the new-age Indian bride.
Mehndi
Usually nude isn’t a top choice for a mehndi. However, Kriti stole the spotlight with this stunning corseted zardosi embroidered modern saree. Crafted by ace designer Ritu Kumar and complemented by statement jhumkas sans any heavy neck or wrist jewellery, the outfit was simple yet glamorous. Keeping comfort a priority, she opted for a minimalistic nude makeup look.
Sangeet
Taking the glam quotient high at the sangeet, Kriti chose a punchy electric blue lehenga and sleeveless choli with intricate gold threadwork. She accessorised the look with chandelier earrings and a variety of kadas.
Haldi
Eschewing the usual yellow, Kriti chose an orange co-ord set for her haldi. The fiery top with organza pallu and sharara pants with trains made a playful statement. The pearl-studded haathphool, chaandbalis and gold braid net added a dash of luxury.
Chooda
Honouring the two most influential women in her life, Kriti wore her mom’s wedding dupatta and her maternal grandmother’s choker at her chooda ceremony. The heirloom pieces were paired with an unembellished lime green saree with a matching off-shoulder blouse. Her makeup and hairdo consisted of a messy ponytail and a nude pout.
Wedding
For the big day, Kriti donned a soft rosy pink lehenga with extensive gota patti work. The lehenga, designed by Anamika Khanna, featured panels in various shades of pink. The choli sleeves were bordered by pearls while her veil was embellished with gold leaf motifs. The look was amped up with two statement necklaces, a matching nath and maangtikka.
Reception
After donning a series of traditional outfits, Kriti opted for a sleek ivory mermaid gown. Abstract colorful prints added a pop of color to her minimalistic look. Meanwhile, her statement necklace with a large gem-encrusted locket, dainty solitaire earrings and old Hollywood-style wavy hair complemented the western ensemble.
