Actress Patralekhaa Paul tied the knot with long-time beau Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao in an intimate ceremony hosted in New Chandigarh earlier this year. Simplistic yet elegant, their wedding was dotted with several festivities and at each one, Patralekhaa was the showstopper with her sartorial choices.
Two days prior to the traditional Indian wedding, the couple took their vows at a white wedding where they also exchanged rings. For this event, Patralekhaa made jaws drop dressed in a stunning silver handcrafted Kasab corset with a flowy side-slit white skirt with a long train from JADE by Monica & Karishma. Completing her dreamy outfit was a delicate sheer veil with a heavy silver border, and accessorizing her look was matching diamond necklaces and bracelets that twinkled just as bright as the dainty fairy lights peppering their white wedding decor. Later, in order to rustle up a storm on the dance floor, Patralekhaa changed into a playful short mint-green dress with a fringed hem and sleeves. In sync with her every move, this outfit was ideal for the high energy moves she performed with Rajkummar.
For her next look, the bride went for a quirky indo-western outfit from Papa Don’t Preach by Shubhika which consisted of a checkered skirt and a heavily embellished crop top with pink, green, and yellow accents. Paired with a fit matching tassel belt, dainty sunglasses and transparent heels, the bride had a gala time posing for the cameras. Studded with pearl-tipped hairpins, her hair was slicked back in a neat braid that reached her hips.
Going for a more sophisticated look for the next event, Patralekhaa donned a romantic pre draped saree with an exaggerated pallu designed by Snehla Khan. A perfect fusion of Indian and western aesthetics, this look was amplified with a circular Louis Vuitton bag dangling from her wrist. Diamond accessories, and versatile nude heels completed the look. Her makeup was also subtle with a deep red pout and lightly lined eyes.
Expressing her love for florals, Patralekhaa also chose a signature organza hand-painted one-shouldered floral dress from Gauri and Nainika and paired it with acid green heels for one of her pre-wedding festivities. She kept her makeup to a minimum with rosy cheeks and glossy lips just so she could saunter around in the pleasant wintry sun.
Taking the less beaten path and giving her inner fashionista a free rein Patralekhaa made the temperature soar in the daring infiloop bikini paired with a fringed Paneyo skirt and a saf choker from ace designer duo Shivan and Narresh. Accessorizing this look was a pair of sleek sunglasses and a compact sling bag.
Infusing comfort with metallic glamor, the couple’s pyjama party was an absolute hit. Patralekhaa stayed true to her glam side by slipping into a custom Amit Aggarwal pyjama set paired with a metallic structured cape and a moulded bustier. Adding a touch of bling to her look was her open hair that had strands of sparkling rhinestones running through it. To finish off the look, the bride also sported a pair of shimmery mules.
For the wedding day, the bride kept in touch with her roots and was a stunner in a bright red tulle embroidered butti saree designed by famed designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee. Expressing her bong legacy was her red and white shankha pola bangles and alta that stained her palms. However, it was her special dupatta that was the center of attention with the phrase penned by Sabyasachi himself which said ‘I am submitting you my heart full of love’ embroidered on the border in Bangla. Furthermore, a traditional chandan design dotted over her eyebrows, while jewelry crafted out of 22k gold and diamonds with a kundan encrusted mathapatti, a statement nath, kundan studded jhumkas, a necklace, heavy gold balis and a statement ring gleamed and shone under the sunlight.
Last but not the least, the bride gave the glamor levels a big leg up at the reception with her cream and gold zari brocade saree from Sabyasachi Mukherjee that she accentuated with a choker and a sleek bun. Accompanying this look was a fine wool shawl with floral motifs that kept her warm as she mingled with the guests at the outdoor venue.
