Natasha Sajnani, an ace makeup artist and Mahesh Moorjani, a mathematician who owns an education business, met when they were both living in London. Holidaying in Brighton, as luck would have it, they bumped into each other. Their eyes met, sparks flew and life took a beautiful turn.

Why Shangri - La Cebu, Phillipines
Natasha says, “As a makeup artist, I have been to so many venues, destinations but it was Shangri -La that really blew my mind. The location, the property and the people of the Philippines - everything was just so perfect. ”

Vintage Hollywood Mehndi
Natasha wanted her mehndi to be glamourous and classy, “So I decided to go with the theme of Vintage Hollywood. Sara Mush, a very popular henna artist, did my mehendi. She created the whole wedding love story on my hands and it was a treat for the eyes. I wore a lehenga saree in gold and Mahesh wore a suit by Mit Shah.”

Moulin Rouge Sangeet
The Moulin Rouge inspired sangeet was a potent cocktail of glamour, style and passion. Natasha elaborates, “Red lights, elaborate sets and perfect props made the whole night come alive. It was the best night of the entire celebration! We had performances, lots of fun and dancing.” She wore an Anjalee Arjun lehenga and Mahesh, a Mit Shah creation.

Glow in the dark pool party
“We had arranged for a pool party where we used ‘glow in the dark’ props. Everyone enjoyed so much and had fun to their heart’s content,” she says.

The party had an added little twist at the end. “We wanted to slowly wrap up the night while still continuing the fun. So we extended it into silk and lace pajama party. The tired guests took no time to slip into the pajamas and still partied hard.”

Wedding and Reception
Natasha wanted to keep the wedding theme romantic yet close to the Indian ethos. So she decided to turn the whole place into an ‘enchanted garden’ using an abundance of red roses, greenery and fresh elements. She wore a beautiful red lehenga by Anjalee & Arjun Kapoor.

Natasha says, “Arjun and Anjalee have to be the most wonderful designers. They were so accommodating, so open to my suggestions. Their designs are amazing but they are also great human beings. They left no stone unturned to make me feel special as a bride.”

Food
There’s no doubt about the fact that food is a very important aspect of any Indian wedding and Natasha says it was one of her main concerns. Fortunately, she had chosen an excellent partner in hospitality, “Shangri-La made sure that we were served the best food possible. They even flew down a chef from India. They have been amazing in handling the wedding.”

And those were the ingredients that went into making a magical destination wedding.
