Nikita and Nakul, Maldives
From relaxed events by the sea to high-glam evening functions, Nikita and Nakul's magical wedding in the Maldives was all about bonding, beautiful decor and breathtaking natural beauty.
What happens when a wedding planner gets married to an entrepreneur dealing in the online luxury fashion space? You can expect elegant events to unfold with precision and splendor. Nakul and Nikita’s Instagram-worthy celebrations in the Maldives were captured by WeddingSutra Favorite – Infinite Memories. Here, bride Nikita shares some highlights of the four-day affair.
How They Met
“Ours was an arranged and not a love marriage, but nothing made us feel like it wasn’t. We met, and after a couple of dates itself we were inseparable, and that is when we knew that this was meant to be. Everything just fell into place perfectly.”
After a lot of research on possible venues for the wedding, Nakul and Nikita finally zeroed on the Maldives. They booked out the entire Furaveri Island Resort & Spa, which is situated on a sole island, for the celebrations which afforded them privacy and luxury.
Around seven ceremonies and parties were planned over four days. The decor for every event was minimal keeping in mind the ethereal natural beauty of the island. With the bride herself being the co-founder of Noor, a wedding design company, all the details were aligned with her personal touch at every ceremony.
The ring ceremony of Nikita and Nakul was an intimate event with loved ones of the couple having a relaxed time together. The decor was done in shades of green and with archaic wooden elements that added a raw touch. The bride looked simple yet elegant in an evening gown by Gaurav Gupta while her groom looked dapper in a brown tuxedo designed by Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna.
Nikita’s beachside mehndi was more of a relaxed pool party than a traditional ceremony, and included minimal decor that comprised of boho backdrops and floral arrangements. Beautiful ladies decked in various shades of green got their hands designed with henna. Nikita looked dreamy in a traditional white lehenga while Nakul wore an elegant kurta in the same color. The morning ceremony was a happy celebration for the family and allowed everyone to relax and bond.
The sangeet decor included a grand stage erected on the beach of the island. With the sounds of the magnificent waves hitting the shore in the background, the event resounded with an array of beautiful performances by family members. Nikita dazzled in a silver lehenga, and Nakul complemented her in his matching bandhgala ensemble.
The haldi ceremony of Nikita and Nakul was a vibrant function which saw the guests decked in the most vivid colors. They had a lot of fun dancing after smearing the couple with turmeric paste and blessing them with love and good wishes.
A sight to behold, the wedding ceremony kickstarted with the handsome groom arriving with his baraat in a private yacht. A sunset ceremony, the wedding had very sublime decor. The pastel mandap was a simple edifice with floral embellishments and included a spectacular chandelier in the center. The backdrop of the setting sun gave a touch of natural splendor to the ceremony. Clad in a traditional red lehenga, Nikita looked like a quintessential Indian bride standing beside her groom who opted to wear a pastel ensemble.
An extravagant soiree marked with a palatial venue and decor straight out of a fairytale, the reception party of Nikita and Nakul was nothing less than magnificent. With gigantic chandeliers, floral backdrops, rich upholstery, and ornamental mirrors, this function was a perfect occasion for the couple to greet their guests and thank each one of them personally.
