Wedding Planning
The groom shares, “Tania and I had resolved early on that we would not host our wedding in our respective hometowns or cities. Instead of more mainstream wedding destinations, we envisioned a unique getaway close to the water with picturesque backdrops and stunning sunsets and found our dream venue at Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty. On our first trip there, we were captivated by the breathtaking views, verdant greenery, and overall vibe of the city. The hotel bolstered our confidence in the idea even more with its exceptional staff and infrastructure. We had found the place!”
Throughout the planning process, the couple was crystal clear on the things they wanted, from the different themes to locations, decor, colors, and more. Having dreamt of their wedding for years, they both knew exactly what they wanted for each function and were set on ensuring each function had a fresh and separate theme and the perfect blend of modern and traditional elements. Wedding Functions
Welcome Lunch
Kicking things off on a high was a vibrant welcome lunch inspired by all things Greek, from the bougainvilleas and the ‘white and blue’ decor to the iconic plate-breaking ritual (“Opaaa”). Having envisioned the experience for a long time, the function was everything the couple wanted, right down to the perfect Grecian plates that the team of Plush Weddings procured with great effort.
Sangeet
Inspired by the beauty of Kerala, the Sangeet evening exuded ‘Enchanted Garden’ vibes with the dreamy decor of lush greens, white blooms, delicate crystal hangings, chandeliers, magical lighting, and a mirrored island bar. The grand stage was lit up with stunning performances by the couple and their loved ones as they danced the night away.
Haldi
The next morning began with the vibrance and joy of Haldi festivities. The simple yet stunning decor of marigolds set a charming traditional tone for the occasion as the couple sat in flower-decked urlis and were showered with haldi, flower petals, and love by their friends and family. Switching things up with an offbeat lilac lehenga for the occasion, the bride had all eyes on her.
Wedding
Karan shares, “We went back and forth for a while when it came to our wedding decor as we wanted it to be extremely special, but with the accurate guidance and ideas from Team Plush we were able to create a breathtaking traditional mandap that complimented the backwater and sunset hues of Kochi! The baraat was an absolute banger with none other than Gurdeep Mehendi to raise the bar and everyone’s vibe as well!”
He adds, “Tania always wanted to be a part of the Baraat, but since traditionally the bride and groom are not allowed to see each other before the wedding, Plush came up with the incredible idea of doing a bridal baraat that not only fulfilled her dream but also hyped everyone up for the wedding”.
Reception
Ending the Kochi festivities on a high, a glittering Reception celebrated the newlyweds. Set with charming decor and the perfect entertainment, the night was enjoyed by every guest young and old alike. The musical stylings of the Sufi Folks Band, liquid drumming, and more, made the evening unforgettable.
Delhi Reception
The couple hosted a grand Reception in Delhi, for which the majestic venue of Morbagh transported the guests to another realm with jaw-dropping chandeliers, dreamy floral installations, candles, and more, conjuring an evening of pure grandeur and opulence. The Roohani band set the mood for the night followed by Benny Dayal who got the whole crowd grooving to his beats. DJ Anil performed the best set to close the night on a high.
