Shruti and Ankit, Meerut

A gentle nudge by their parents encouraged Ankit and Shruti to deepen their friendship at work into something special. Check out all the fun highlights of their wedding here.

How They Met
Shruti shares, “Ankit and I met on my first day of work in the company where I continue to work even now. And, since he was my designated work buddy, he took me out to lunch. Ever since then, we’ve been friends, and as time flew by, our parents came up with the idea that we should transform our friendship into love. And eventually, the idea took root and our friendship slowly blossomed into love!”

Wedding Planning
Keeping in mind that planning a wedding is a colossal task, the duo decided to rope in seasoned vendors who’d understand their vision with complete clarity. On the photography front, they chose Weddings Knots, along with makeup artists Aish & Shreya Makeovers. Adding to the team were invitation designers White Mirage Invites, and Dulhan Diaries who were in charge of the favors.

Weddings Functions
Haldi
Hosted under the azure sky, the Haldi was a distinctly family affair that was celebrated in a traditional manner. Following minimalistic decor, this event witnessed close friends and family members come together to playfully slather the bride and groom with a mixture of turmeric and yogurt.

Mehndi
Replete with dancing, music, and food, the mehndi was a cheerful affair where everyone shook a leg regardless of their age. Following a soothing blue color palette, the decor consisted of decorative kites that added a pop of color to the venue. Dressed in a lemon yellow sharara set with dazzling mirror work, Shruti looked radiant as she danced to the beats of the dhol.

Engagement
Amping up the glamor stakes, the engagement was a glitzy occasion where the venue was decorated with colorful blooms and chandeliers. Equipped with a dance floor and an LED DJ booth, everyone had a blast as they danced to their favorite tracks and celebrated with the bride and groom.

Wedding
Basking under the golden glow cast by multiple chandeliers, Shruti and Ankit tied the knot in a traditional ceremony accentuated by a few contemporary elements. With decor that consisted of delicate vases brimming with florals, enchanting archways, and cream-hued furnishings, this event looked like a celebration straight out of a desi fairytale.

Advice For Couples
The couple shares, “Planning a wedding is a colossal task and may seem confusing. The key is to get the big decisions wrapped up early on like the wedding outfits, venues, photographers, and then concentrate on the smaller things. Most importantly, remember to enjoy the process as it’s a unique experience that you’ll remember for a lifetime.”
