A classic case of arranged marriage turning into love Unita and Nikhil knew that there was something special brewing between them from the first moment itself. When it came down to their wedding planning however, they were stuck at crossroads, but finally made the monumental decision of tying the knot in an intimate ceremony amidst the stark beauty of the desert dunes.
How They Met
Unita shares, “Nikhil and I first met in a typical arranged marriage set up and it was love at first sight! Our conversation flowed smoothly, and our proposed two-hour meeting stretched into a six-hour-long session filled with laughter and stories. It was almost like I’d known him for ages and we’re so happy that everything worked out just right!”
Wedding Planning
Unita shares, “Initially, we had a big wedding in mind with multiple functions. But just as we dived into the planning process, we realized that it wasn’t something that we connected with. It was slowly turning into an affair that just wasn’t what we truly believed a wedding should be. We ideally wanted a small, intimate, and elegant wedding. Then one day, after an exhausting planning session, we went out for a couple of drinks and toyed with the idea of scrapping the whole grand plan. Surprisingly, the more we played with the idea, the more confident we were about it. Eventually, we took the step and started the process of convincing our families. We feel blessed that all our loved ones were so supportive of our decision.”

Unita recollects, “Our wedding day was incredibly serene with the elegant mandap in the center and the quiet desert surrounding us. We took our phere with our family members surrounding us and the whole ceremony was so cheerful.
Advice For Couples
Sharing her advice for anyone who’s hesitant about an intimate wedding, Unita says, “For anyone who’s on the fence about an intimate wedding, I’d say just go for it! You want your wedding day to be joyful and want to be surrounded by people who’re genuinely happy to be there. Nikhil and I did it and we’re so glad about our decision!”
