Kanika’s Bachelorette Bash was a Lovely Indoor Affair in the Age of Social Distancing

With the recent global outbreak of the deadly novel coronavirus, weddings, and related functions, are being postponed or canceled, and social distancing is making even an intimate family event a challenge. Naturally, this is causing brides-to-be, their fiances, and their families to feel low and out of control given the unpredictable situation. Yet, amidst all the doom and gloom scenarios, there was a spot of cheer for Kanika Kumria. The enterprising founder of WeddingSutra Favorite – Kaleerein by Kanika Kumria, a Gurgaon-based wedding planning company. Her bridesmaids managed to quickly replan things and host an intimate bachelorette party for her in the Presidential Suite of the Radisson Blu Plaza in Delhi.
With India practicing social distancing for days, throwing an indoor bash was the safest option for the girls. Kanika shares, “The bachelorette party was going to take place in Thailand originally, but due to the pandemic, we decided not to risk it and held a private affair indoors in Delhi.”
The color palette for the decor included silver, shimmer and lavender. The lavish suite was decorated with metallic balloons, drapes, fairy lights and aromatic candles. Kanika and her bridesmaids were dressed from head to toe in shimmering outfits, over which they wore silk robes a while later to get in sync with the theme. The bride-to-be held a huge diamond ring-shaped helium balloon and posed against a backdrop which read ‘Miss To Mrs.’
Her bridesmaids planned a surprise choreographed group dance medley which was fused with the funniest moments and enactments from the bride’s life. The party continued with cake cutting and fun bachelorette games. Kanika recalls, “The most memorable moment from the party was when my friends surprised me with their sassy outfits and a musical performance which was a revelation. We popped a bottle of champagne and raised a toast with the best wishes my girls made for me!”
