How they met
Anushka shares, “Karan and I met when we were 16 years old, on our very first day of junior college at Narsee Monjee. Introduced by a mutual friend, our casual conversations over time turned into non-stop chatting and when Karan left the city to practice football professionally at the Tata Football Academy in Jamshedpur we officially started dating After 10 years of long-distance he came back to Mumbai in 2018, and there was no looking back”.

Wedding Planning
Anushka and Karan both always wanted a wide open space which is a rarity in Mumbai and found their ideal venue at Mini Club House in Mahalaxmi. Flanked by a stunning heritage property and the beautiful green turf made it a beautiful backdrop for their festivities. To bring their vision of their wedding to life, they turned to the team of The Vow Weavers. Recounting the experience they share, “The Vow Weavers have been part of every little step since day 1, looking after the minutest of details and making sure we got the wedding of our dreams. They are incredible and kept us sane and entertained through the whole process. They advised us accurately and delivered the best of everything. Neelam, Nitisha, and the entire team were a wonderful presence to have around and did more than what was expected of them all through the wedding”.

She adds, “Neelam and Nitisha are an absolute power duo. They each play to their strengths and together, they deliver the best. Extremely prompt, trustworthy, and easy to communicate with, they went all out for us and made it all a grand success. Each time I met them through the planning process I felt a sense of reassurance that everything is being handled well. Even the post-wedding process of managing payments was super smooth. They managed to keep things in order and ensure Karan and I kept our focus on enjoying our day”.

The couple reached out to Dhawal Doshi and his team to choreograph their Sangeet performances with the utmost creativity. Their special moments were captured in vivid beauty by the team of The Photo Lab.

Wedding
The couple tied the knot with a dreamy Punjabi wedding, imagined in a whimsical color palette of ivory with tones of flowers, fairy lights, antique lamps, and more.

Both the bride and the groom were dressed in Padmasitaa. The bride’s lehenga was a combination of different techniques like zardozi, pitta, mukaish, dabka, and tikki work encrusted with pearls, adorned with beautiful flowers, 3D butterflies, and birds bordered with beautiful scalloped Pearls, and took over 4 months to create. The groom’s ensemble was a collaborative effort of Padmasitaa x Sanjay Hingu using mukaish and zardozi techniques giving it the old vintage charm. They exchanged varmalas of pearls, white roses, and mogra buds.

Advice for couples
“It is best to start your wedding prep at least 6-7 months in advance, starting with your wedding planners. The Vow Weavers made an excellent choice. I always thought it was easy to manage without one but trust me, the enormity of everything that needs to be done always catches up. Also, focus on enjoying the little moments leading up to the day. It’s what makes up the memories you will cherish forever. And always work with your partner as a team.”
