With WeddingSutra on Location- Saloni Bajaj

As part of our initiative ‘WeddingSutra on Location’, we invited four brides-to-be for a unique experience at Ensemble, the multi designer store near Lions Gate, Mumbai. Starting with a Style Consultation, a Makeover and a Photo shoot, each of the participants got to interact with some of the best names in Bridal & Wedding services. Here in the last of the four-part series, bride-to-be Saloni Bajaj, a Business Strategy Consultant at Deloitte blogs about her experience with WeddingSutra on Location at Ensemble.

“The last few months have been most hectic because of my work schedule, plus the planning & coordination for my wedding which is taking place in my home town. But no matter how stressed I am, thinking about the different looks and what would suit me best gets me dreamy. Ever since my wedding date got fixed WeddingSutra has been my ‘Go To’ resource for everything shopping-related. While browsing through the Facebook fanpage one day I read a bride-to-be’s experience with WeddingSutra on Location. The opportunity to dress in a creation by an iconic designer, get a makeover and meet different wedding experts sounded most exciting. So I wrote to WeddingSutra, and I was thrilled when a few weeks later I received an invitation to WeddingSutra on Location at Ensemble.

On the day of the shoot, a Thursday morning, I decide to leave home early to beat the traffic. I reached Ensemble fifteen minutes before the scheduled time. On reaching the store, the WeddingSutra team introduced me to the experts they had invited- Wedding Planner Neha Shroff, Makeup Artist Kumar Iyer and Photographer Shreya Sen. My ‘play bride-to-be’ session started with looking at the bridal wear on display and I couldn’t stop admiring all the creations wondering how I’ll be able to choose one outfit to wear; then my eyes fell on a gorgeous pink sari, I looked at it closely, it was a Manish Malhotra creation, in net fabric with gold embroidery, delicate trimmings and paired with a sleeveless sequinned blouse. I decided to try it on and I liked it even more. To complete the look, Neha Shroff helped me with the jewellery options. We chose a necklace set studded with uncut diamonds, and matched it with a dull gold bangle.

Next, I got my Makeup done by Kumar Iyer. As per his advice, I decided to go ‘glamorous’. I was relaxed while he worked with the brushes and colors, he made me feel comfortable, and I was sure I will like his work! Makeup complete I looked at the mirror, and I knew this is the look I wanted for my wedding.

Finally, it was the photo shoot with Shreya Sen. Initially I thought ‘posing’ will be a bit cumbersome, but Shreya made it simple and easy, and I faced the camera happily. For 20 minutes, I felt I was a ‘super model’. Shoot over, I looked at my watch, and suddenly realised that I had spent more than three hours at Ensemble. I left the store happy that I had taken the effort to commute a long distance for this awesome mid-week break!”
