The Proposal
“It happened to be my birthday and Aldrich, a man full of surprises, wanted to celebrate it uniquely. Keeping it all a big secret, he bought a flaming red dress for me and asked me to get ready for a special birthday date. Since I didn’t want to spoil the surprise that he had so sweetly planned for a while, I played along with no questions asked.”
“After I got ready, he dropped in a message saying that he had to leave for an urgent meeting and had called an Uber for me instead. As soon as I walked out, I was stoked to see a Limousine waiting for me with a chauffeur carrying a bouquet of yellow roses that he sweetly handed to me as he wished me ‘Happy Birthday’. He also mentioned that Aldrich had left a letter for me to read as I journeyed to the destination.”
“As soon as I started reading the seven-page long letter, I got a little teary-eyed but was careful not to spoil my makeup that took me hours to perfect. I got dropped off the stunning Chicago skyline walk by the Adler Planetarium, and was led by the chauffeur towards the lake where Aldrich was waiting with the BIG surprise.”
“Aldrich, with a guitar in his hand, was standing with a sign that read ‘Marry Me’, decorated with rose petals and candles everywhere. I was benumbed by the breathtaking experience as this proposal was beyond what I had ever dreamt of. He started singing ‘Can’t help falling in love with you’, and I couldn’t hold back my tears. It was the biggest surprise of my life. He then got down on one knee with the most stunning ring in his hand and asked me to be his wife. After fumbling for a bit, I shouted a big ‘Yes’, and right then, I saw my entire family and friends cheering us on loudly while running excitedly towards us. It was a fairytale dream come true, and I wouldn’t have had it any other way.”
