The crème de la crème of Mumbai is talking about Ashni Biyani’s wedding to Viraj Didwania. And her stunning wear created by India’s couture kings- Rohit Bal and Raj Mahtani.
The Biyani family (Big Bazaar, Pantaloons and The Future Group) didn’t invite the press nor did they release any pictures of their very exclusive yet private family affair. So there’s even more curiosity, and everyone is dying to see pictures of the petite and pretty Ashni in a stunning beige sherwani and lehenga that Gudda (Rohit Bal) created for her reception.
Says our source: “The wedding functions included a Sangeet at Mont Blanc (the Didwania residence at Kemps Corner), wedding at Taj Lands End and a grand reception at The Turf Club.” Only 5 feet tall Ashni Biyani is being trained by her father Kishore Biyani to take on a bigger role in his business. Ashni is currently taking care are of Holii the fun Indian bags brand co-created by Hi Design and The Future Group.
Ashni’s reception outfit by Rohit Bal was a beautiful beige lehenga with gold and burgundy zardozi. Adds our source: “Rohit Bal’s lehenga had its trademark detailing. But he did a phenomenal job of individualizing the utterly feminine creation—we have never seen one such creation and I’m sure we’ll ever see one such on another bride.” Ashni’s makeup was done by Cory Walia and she wore jewellery by Raj Mahtani. In case you haven’t heard of the legendary Kolkata based Raj Mahtani. His family began producing jewellery for Indian Royal families in the 1880’s. He continues the tradition of his great-great grandfathers and produces over-the-top creations for those who are willing to spend anything- jewellery that is traditional in design but contemporary in style.
