Harshita and Monish’s Platinum Day of Love

Our initiative ‘Love Actually’ is a photo series featuring engaged couples who actively seek ideas and inspiration from WeddingSutra. The series celebrates a couple and their unique connection as they get ready to start their lives together. Over coffee, a makeover and a photo shoot we got the to-be-weds to share how they met, knew they were each other’s soulmates, show us their Platinum Love Bands and tell us about their ‘Day of Love.’
We met Mumbai-based Harshita and Monish at his charming restaurant Veranda in Bandra. Harshita owns the label Jorss in Juhu. Their love story dates back to the time they both lived in the same neighborhood and had common friends. While they always knew of each other it took some time before love knocked at their hearts. Harshita recalls the first time when she found herself drawn to Monish which was during a trip to Jaipur that the two took together. “After dating for three months, we headed to Jaipur to attend a music festival together. I was in a beautiful city with amazing company! The combination of everything in that trip worked and I found myself falling for Monish. That trip changed my perspective toward our relationship, and I knew I had found my soulmate.”
Harshita then begins telling us their story from where it all began. “Monish and I have known each other for a very long time as we lived in the same neighborhood and even had mutual friends. He started liking me shortly after we first met and soon all our friends got to know about it. I, on the other hand, had no clue and didn’t bother finding out because I wasn’t interested in him back then. “
Monish, however, did not give up so easily. For him, she was special, so insisted that Harshita go out for dinner with him and this turned things around for them. “Since Monish was so determined to take me out, I agreed to meet him for sushi, and that’s when my opinion about him began to change. I had earlier thought of him as an arrogant person, but he was the polar opposite of that, and it showed in his actions. He was very gracious to me and treated the staff at the restaurant well. These are things that matter to me and made all the difference.”
Harshita believes ‘What is meant to be, will be.’ She explains, “I believe that Monish and I have a very karmic connection. There were so many points at which our lives converged that it feels like us being together was predestined. He told his parents about me and how serious he was about what we shared very early in our relationship.”
So what qualities made the click with each other? Harshita shares, “Both of us are very easy going and positive people who give each other space and are willing to make adjustments. This, I find, is very rare. Monish and I believe in that beautiful quote by Khalil Gibran which states that ‘Let there be spaces in your togetherness.’ This has made our relationship stronger.”
Platinum Love Bands. Harshita then goes on to draw a parallel between their bond and this precious metal by saying “In my opinion, platinum is a beautiful symbol of love. Being one of the strongest and most precious metals, it is something that you know will stand the test of time and there couldn’t have been a more fitting representation of our love than jewellery crafted using this.”
What was it about Monish that led her to believe that he was her soulmate? Harshita smiles and explains, “He is one of the most honest, giving and thoughtful people I have come across. His open-mindedness allows him to understand others and their situations so much better. When I am around him, I experience a sense of security and protection without feeling like he owns me.”
Speaking about her dreams for the future, Harshita adds, “Our relationship is something that I am sure about. When he speaks about the times to come, be it about simple everyday things or bigger plans, my faith in us is restored, and I know this is forever.”
The exquisite ornaments crafted in platinum from Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri proved to be the perfect match for the couple’s style and taste as they expressed their love for each. To make sure that the day would forever be etched in their memories, Lights and Stories captured their bond in candid frames, and makeup artist ensured that Harshita looked resplendent through it all.
