Summer brings a bounty of deep, saturated colors and your make up should definitely resonate with the vibrancy of the season.
Still, weddings are a season unto themselves and brides bring sunshine wherever they go – so it’s amazing to watch more and more of them say ‘yes’ to a bold pop of color on their lips! These explorations past the same-old spectrum means we’re seeing tints and tones that have been just waiting to trend. So wave goodbye to the cliché reds and pinks and say hello to plush, playful, plucky plum!
It’s a shade of many facets, depending on how it’s worn. It will fit right in with some kitschy, blingy mehendi outdoors, a celebratory sangeet or a sophisticated soiree.
In the latest edition of WeddingSutra on Location, makeup artist Kinjal Joshi shows us a more rare avatar of plum – the conventional look. Bride-to-be Bhavika Mehta wears the Lakme Absolute Matte Ultimate Lip Color in Delicious Plum. Kinjal balanced the deep hues with a warm-toned foundation teamed with a nice shimmer on the eyelids. Subtle cheeks played perfect foil to that burst of color on the lips. The Delicious Plum shade has a creamy texture and smooth finish thanks to the argan oil in the lipstick. It’s the taste of summer.
