Our initiative ‘Love Actually’ is a photo series featuring engaged couples who actively seek ideas and inspiration from WeddingSutra. The series celebrates the beautiful people in love as they start their lives together. Because real love can only begin, never end. Over coffee, a makeover and a photo shoot we get to-be-weds to tell us how they met, show us their platinum love bands and talk about their day of love.
Mitali and Kush always knew of each other through family and common friends, but they finally met thanks to their aunts who set up the meeting. Says Mitali, “Both of us are Chartered Accountants, and we share the same birthday. Neither of us were keen on marriage but we agreed to meet as we were curious to know about each other. So we met, and came back and told our families ‘No’ to marriage. But I think in the first meeting itself we took a liking for each other. So we kept in touch and started dating and our parents, blissfully unaware of this development, asked us to meet different prospects and we kept avoiding their plans. Six months into dating, we decided to tell them and they got to hear what they wanted to hear earlier ‘Yes'”.
Both Mitali and Kush planned a special proposal for each other. Says Mitali, “Taking my family into confidence, Kush arranged a day full of my favorite things, starting from a drive to Lonavala, proposing to me on a roller-coaster at Imagica, sailing, cooking dinner for me and finally giving me cupcakes saying ‘Will you marry me?’ I thought to myself, ‘Why should girls have all the fun?’ So with the help of his mother and sister, I booked a part of The Willingdon Golf course (golf is his first love) and arranged golf balls to read ‘Marry Me?’
Mitali and Kush are tying the knot on 4 January 2015 in South Mumbai. Says Mitali, “I have to mention that WeddingSutra has made our wedding planning journey a lot easier. It is a one stop shop, a wedding dictionary and a great source to find everyone from talented photographers, makeup artists and other wedding specialists! While browsing the website I came across ‘Love Actually’ and the idea really excited me! I got in touch with team WeddingSutra when they were finalizing details for their upcoming shoot, and luckily their dates worked for us! Now I only had to convince Kush to get on board with the idea, as he hates getting photographed, while I love it! So as my birthday gift he agreed to be a part of the ‘Love Actually’ shoot only because he knows it means a lot to me. He logged onto the WeddingSutra Blog, and after seeing other couples’ photos and reading about their experiences, he got comfortable with the idea. On the day of the shoot, Dessange did my hair and make up, I requested them to keep it elegant and simple, which they did and I was very happy. The photo shoot at Sofitel was fun and enjoyable thanks to Photographers Vivek and Dhruvin of Love Dope Studios.
Post their three-day wedding celebrations, Kush and Mitali are jetting off to New Zealand for their honeymoon. “We’ve booked everything through the internet and can’t wait to start our happily ever after!” states Kush.
Here’s wishing the lovely couple the very best for their wedded life ahead.
