Meet the wedding planner bride who orchestrated her own boho-inspired Roka ceremony

Nestled amidst lush greenery, Anisha Verma and Sumit Vijhani’s Roka was a vibrant affair under the open sky. Planned and decorated by WeddingSutra Favorite – Riwaaz -e- Rishte which is helmed by the bride itself, this Roka ceremony boasted of rustic bohemian elements that left everyone captivated at every juncture.

Giving us a brief glimpse of their love story, Anisha the planner, decorator, and the bride at this glorious event shares, “In just three months of dating, Sumit and me knew that we were destined to be together. Something between us clicked just right and the moment we realized that we wanted to spend our lives together, there was just no looking back.”

Being a wedding planner who has organized numerous weddings and also as the founder of the wedding planning company Riwaaz -e- Rishte, Anisha had complete clarity when it came to the theme of her own Roka ceremony. Aided by her colleagues at Riwaaz -e- Rishte and her to-be groom, she brought her vision to life effortlessly. Describing her thought process behind the theme, she says, “Both of us were very clear from the start itself about the vibes we wanted our function to exude. Luckily, it turned out to be exactly like what we’d imagined. We both wanted something very minimalistic as an expression of our personalities, and since orange signifies excitement, enthusiasm, and warmth, we used it generously in the decor as these qualities are dominant in our relationship too. Being a planner, I was hands-on in my approach and was clear about using fewer fabric drapes. Instead, we chose to use pampas grass, blooms and millet stems in the decor to create a rustic atmosphere.”

Brimming with a multitude of blooms and long wooden tables where the guests could cheerfully exchange banter under the afternoon sun, the decor at the ceremony urged each attendee to relax and enjoy the proceedings. As for the color palette, bride Anisha chose a punchy orange hue that contrasted delightfully with the earthy hues of the venue. Adorned with centerpieces crafted out of pampas grass, baby’s breath, orange daisies, dainty white roses, and lush foliage, the wooden tables looked inviting and were paired with orange cushioned chairs that ensured complete comfort. Furthermore, to whet the guests’ appetite, a live kitchen was organized in front of the bungalow where they happily went back for second helpings.

However, the highlight of the occasion was the main seating area where the bride and groom posed for pictures. Peppered with floral arches that echoed with the rustic boho theme of the ceremony, this spot was also furnished with an elegant beige hued sofa with bright orange cushions. Flanked by transparent gold-framed lanterns and a plush rug, the to-be bride was a vision in her soft yellow and lavender sharara set while the to-be groom looked dapper in his tan suit as they indulged in playful shenanigans even as they posed for the lenses.
