Designing a high-profile wedding always comes with added pressure. However, for team Weddings By Bhawna Charan designing this wedding was a welcome challenge as it gave them the opportunity to expand the horizons of their creativity. Bhawana Charan shares, “The pre-wedding festivities were aimed at being breezy. But we did ensure that the wedding reception looked larger than life! Since there were many celebrities and A-listers in attendance, we wanted to ensure that everything looked perfect while adhering to the couple’s vision.” Actors Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan, Kamal Haasan, Mohanlal along with producer Karan Johar attended the wedding.

The events kicked off with a refreshing mehendi event where everyone basked under the sun as they mingled and got their hands patterned with henna. Bedecked with spring blooms, like, peonies and peach blossoms – the decor theme fits right in with the natural surroundings as cabanas sheltered cozy seating areas. Notes of neroli, citrus, cardamom and ylang-ylang infused the venue transporting guests to their happy place.

After the serene mehndi, the glamour quotient was given a leg up with a stunning sangeet. With a theme that revolved around glazed glass and chandeliers, the open-air event followed a colour palette of gold, white and black. Adding a gold glow to the proceedings were dainty candles that made the metallic elements shimmer under the night sky.

Instead of following the conventional timeline of hosting the reception after the wedding, the couple chose to host it before both their weddings. The design story for the event was clean and classic with contemporary elements. Foliage and white blooms were prominent in the decor with the stage decorated with suspended floral garlands. The seating arrangements also synced with the decor with its light beige hues.

With Gautam hailing from Kerala and Hirangi from Gujarat- the duo hosted two wedding ceremonies, each of which paid an ode to their roots. For the Keralite wedding, the color scheme was a pristine one with shades of ivory, brass and green. Elements, like jasmine and leafy coconut leaves were abundant. Additionally, the guests kept cool with multiple helpings of coconut water as the wedding took place.

For the Gujarati wedding, a plethora of hues was used right from pastel pinks to lavender. Baby’s breath, pink roses and foliage adorned the extravagant mandap while the seats around it contrasted it beautifully with its white upholstery. Centerpieces on the table also echoed the floral design of the mandap with the same blooms being placed in crystal vases. Additionally, the seats were also equipped with cones filled with rose petals for the guests to shower on the couple during the phere.
