This couple’s destination wedding in UAE featured a dreamy seaside floral pink wedding mandap with a chrome aisle!

A vivid melange of designs, themes and traditions – Divya Kaur and Pratham Joshi’s wedding was minimalistic but highly detail-oriented. Planning their union was WeddingSutra Favorite – Splendid Surprise Luxury Weddings who with their expertise ensured the couple and the guests had a gala time.

Aarefa Ahmedabadwala and Pramod Manerikar from Splendid Surprise Luxury Weddings share, “Divya and Pratham were a zero-fuss pair who wanted a minimalistic wedding that also reflected their varied roots. They hail from two different cultural perspectives, but the camaraderie they share makes it look so seamless. For them, the details were the essence of the celebration and for us as planners, this took precedence over everything else. Each event was painstakingly designed and it took us two months to get the moodboards just right. The execution time at the venues was nothing more than 5 hrs to 6hrs. However, everything flowed smoothly and the couple was extremely happy with the final result.”

An Arabic-inspired mehndi commenced the wedding celebration and gave the guests a flavour of the destination. Aarefa and Pramod share, “Most of the guests were arriving from the United States and we wanted to give them a taste of the local ambience. The Arabic style mehndi was an ode to classic Arab elements with a contemporary touch. The fabric and flex pattern was designed by our in-house team along with the 3D moon, the photo booth and the sand art bottle station.”

With a turnaround time of just five hours, the planning team hustled to host the haldi at nine in the morning. Aarefa and Pramod share, “For haldi, we executed a tropical vibe with a twist. So we got organza flowers made in our warehouse by our karigars. We make everything in-house, and 5% is outsourced so that the authenticity stays.”

Next in line was the glam but unique sangeet. The design team shares, “Sangeet was redesigned a couple of times as it had a ‘Neon Pop Disco’ theme. We just had to get the pop of pink and purple right. Thankfully, we finally hit all the right notes with hues and we can safely say that Dubai has never seen such a sangeet. Moreover, this was done in a period of just five to six hours.”

For the big day, nothing was left to chance to orchestrate a fairytale-like affair. The team shares, “Overlooking the sea and cutting a striking contrast against the blue sky, the lavender-hued wedding mandap made jaws drop. It was our signature ‘transparent mandap’ with a reflective chrome aisle. Since the temperature was running high, we also had a customised coconut wall with the couple monogram to keep everyone refreshed.”

As the sky got darker, the planning team geared up for an elegant reception. The team shares, “The theme was ‘Scarlet Blue Moon’. Everything was in the shades of blue and white. The vertical lines and geometric patterns on the reception stage were specially included in the design as the bride likes straight lines.”
