Decorated by Event Shoppe by Sumita Ghai, this wedding was a dreamy affair as it was kissed by the gentle breeze of the Arabian Sea and surrounded by lush tropical gardens. Describing the brief given to her by the power couple, Sumita Ghai, the creative director of Event Shoppe and owner of The Mansion House shares, “The brief given to us was specific but nuanced. The couple wanted a neutral palette and a minimalistic design. But, at the same time, they also wanted several touches of tradition that brought out the real essence and exuberance of the ‘Great Indian Shaadi’.

Additionally, we also wanted to ensure that each ceremony was distinct and diverse. From the Mehndi, Haldi, Wedding, Cocktail and the Formal Dinner, to the high octane after-party, everything had its own unique theme and decor. Overall, it was hectic as we finished everything under two weeks but we did end up having as much fun as our guests!”

Elated by the effort put in by team Event Shoppe, Varun’s mother Laali Dhawan shares, “It was such a pleasure working with the team. They delivered every single time and looked into each and every detail. You could see that they gave their 100 percent to their work!” Bride Natasha Dalal gushes, “Sumita and her team are incredibly talented and nailed the brief! They took on every request with so much ease and carried it all off easily. Moreover, The Mansion House created an amazing atmosphere which made us enjoy every moment. It is a stunning property and even the food throughout the events was delicious!”

Following the couple and their respective families’ directives, the decor team put their creativity to the test by creating differing themes for each function. For the first event, the Mehndi which was held at the Cabana Cove, the decor was soft and romantic. Dotted with floral tablecloths, sun umbrellas in shades of delicate pink that matched Natasha’s outfit, it was a glorious affair.

After this event, cocktails at the West Coast Terrace and dinner at the Lakeside Lounge was served. Exuding laid-back Goan vibes with hundreds of hurricane candles lighting up the venue, this event encouraged everyone to kick back and take in the sights. For the dinner, elegance was at its peak with blue and white orchids that were softly lit up by standing crystal chandeliers.

The next day, in contrast to laid back vibes of the cocktails and dinner, the haldi ceremony at the Verandah Garden was vibrantly swathed in traditional hues of orange and yellow. Equipped with a beautiful swing that was placed against a backdrop of cheerful marigolds and exotic heliconias, this function was whimsical yet traditional.

For the big day, no stone was left unturned as the decor team combined stylish old-world elegance with contemporary elements. Emanating romantic and ethereal vibes, the wedding venue welcomed the baraatis with a floral bower festooned with a plush chandelier. Crafted out of wood and adorned with delicate pampas grass, garlands of rajnigandha, and aromatic sprigs of ivy, eucalyptus, and springneri, the mandap by the pool deck was a breathtaking sight to behold. Lit up by candles, the aisle led the bride to her groom waiting at the Varmala spot which was replete with gypsophila flowers, a symbol of everlasting love and innocence. Sheltered by a canopy of fairy lights that twinkled merrily under the velvety night sky the wedding emanated divinity. And after the couple had tied the knot a scrumptious dinner was served under the stars at the poolside garden.
